Why Fridays and Saturdays at 9PM ‘Answer Me 1994’?
Starting from October 18th, tvN "Answer Me 1994" started broadcasting on 9PM on Friday and Saturdays.
Viewers are not used to a broadcasting time of Thursday/Friday at 9PM. Producer Shin Won Ho directing "Answer Me 1994" explained this in a press conference at a restaurant near Yeoido on October 17th.
Producer Shin explained the time schedule of the drama saying, "Saturday and Sunday are extremely different. For people who go to work or people who have businesses, Saturday is a comfortable day. But Sunday is different as Monday follows after. So we thought it was best if Friday and Saturday was grouped better than Saturday and Sunday."
He further said, "Answer Me 1997" is a like a mini series from the younger generation whereas "Answer Me 1994" is a warmer drama that will be something between a mini-series and a weekend drama. We thought it'd be best if family members could watch this together at a time where weekend dramas are broadcast and thus planned it for 8:50PM.
"Answer 1994" is the second in a series after "Answer 1997" that brought a retro trend. Producer Shin Won Ho and Writer Lee Woo Jung that worked together to make tvN "Answer 1997" will work together again to shed light on the 1990s. It started on October 18th at 9PM and will be broadcast on Fridays and Saturdays.
