"Reply 1988" it was revealed why Park Bo Gum had started to play baduk.

On the 16th episode of tvN Friday/Saturday drama "Reply 1988" broadcast on Jan. 16th (script Lee Woo Jung, director Shin Won Ho), Choi Moo Sung (played by Choi Moo Sung) and Kim Sun Young (played by Kim Sung Young) started to think about the past as they were reminiscing on bed.

Sun Woo (played by Go Kyung Pyo) had declared, "I want to start dating for Sung Bo Ra (played by Ryu Hye Young) for the sake of marriage." Afterwards, his parents felt badly and he laid next to them and started to listen to their talk.  Choi Moo Sung said, "Just because you're not a son by blood, I'm not taking you for granted. Listen to me" he said as he talked about his story.

The story that Choi Moo Sung was talking about was the reason why they had started playing baduk.  Younger, Sung Duk Sun (played by Hye Ri) wanted him to be a bit more careful and took him to the baduk clubs, which were the start.

Meanwhile, "Reply 1988" is the third of the reply series - "Reply 1997" and "Reply 1994." This is a comic family drama about five families who live in the same alley in 1988 in Seoul.  The drama features Sung Dong Il, Lee Il Hwa, Ra Miran, Girls' Day Hye Ri, Ko Kyung Pyo, and Park Bo Gum.
