New Daily Drama: "Love Rides The Song"

A new daily drama, "Love Rides the Song," also known as "Melody of Love," will debut next week.

Since it is a drama based on musicals, the cast will include several singers, a few of whom have drama experience and some that don't have any.

The most that can be teased from the drama's description is that it's about family members who learn to appreciate each other. They also learn to regret the harmful things they have done in the past.

The drama will feature musical numbers throughout.

Actor Baek Sung Hyun will play Park Hyun Woo, an independent lawyer. Baek is known for his portrayal of the young Choi Jung Woo in "Adolescent Medley," playing Kang Byung Jin in "Iris 2," and Gil Da Ran's brother in the comedy "Big."

SISTAR's Dasom will play Song Deul Im, an aspiring musical actress. It's only her second drama role, having previously played Woo Da Yoon in "Shut Up Family."

When asked how she felt about acting in the drama, Dasom said that she did feel pressured taking on a leading role.

"But I will definitely give portraying Song Deul Im my best shot, so that I can repay my gratitude towards the director and writer who gave this role," said Dasom. "Song Deul Im is more tenacious, outgoing, and optimistic than I am. She is sometimes mischievous, abrasive, and muddle-headed, so the role really is my cup of tea."

Kim Hyung Jun, the youngest member of the group SS501, plays Tae Kyung, a concert director who is friends with both Park Hyun Woo and Song Deul Im. Eventually he will develop feelings for Song Deul Im.

Kim Hyung Jun said that he is more excited than nervous to be in this project.

"There are always hardships as a singer and an actor but I really enjoy new challenges," said Kim. "And I really want to try my best to be acknowledged as an actor."

Kim appeared as Jung Mong Kyu in "I Summon You Gold," Jung Min Chae in "Late Blossom" and Kang Min in "My Shining Girl." He also appeared in the film "Rough Play" with actor Lee Joon.

Jo Seung Hee, a member of the idol group 5dolls, will play Song Soo Im, Deul Im's older sister. This is her first drama.

Kwak Hee Sung will also play a part in the drama. He appeared as Ma Yi Chan in "Ad Genius Lee Tae Baek" and Min Dong Ki in "Korean Peninsula."

The musical drama is a joint effort between director Lee Deok Gun and writer Hong Young Hee. It will premiere after the KBS daily drama "Sweet Springs" on Nov. 4.
