Actor Do Ji Hwan who has his first main role in tvN Monday/Tuesday drama "Basketball" is making a great presence.

On the first and second episodes of "Basketball" broadcast last week, Kang San (played by Do Ji Han) is a person from Nam Dae Moon's slums and though he's poor he doesn't give up hope and works hard to rid the cycles of poverty.  He was expelled from Normal High School and has great skills but was not selected for the Practical Basketball Team as he suffered continuous failures.  Moreover, in the last episode, he was shocked and emotionally disturbed learning that Kong Yoon Bae (played by Kong Hyung Jin) who he thought had held him unconditionally and worked for the national beautification company was also part of those that was part of the gentrification of the slums.

On the third episode to be aired on October 28th, Kang San will start a new wave and on the preview, Kong Yoon Bae says to Kang San, "You are I are now over" showing a strong urge for victory and competition.  He says to his old-time friend Bok Joo (played by Son Beom Jun), "What else do you want me to do?" and cries out showing an internal change in Kang San, drawing viewers' attention.

Kang San's role is played by Do Ji Hwan who has been featured in movies "My Way" "Neighbor" "Tower" and the drama, "Incarnation of Money" has shown great potential with a nice yet solid image with his strong glares.  He played the child role of Jang Dong Gun in "My Way" and was called the Second Jang Dong Gun.  Afterwards, he has been cast in numerous roles on screen and on TV.  In "Basketball" he has a multidimensional character in the Japanese occupation era with both light and darkness as he hopes to show a more mature acting.

"Basketball" shows more than just a sport that our people were able to win when going against Japan during the Japanese occupation era.  It's more meaningful and shows the story of the young generation roaming the courts.  The competition raging more than 70 years ago on the basketball court and the love of the 20s that changes so quickly is drawing great affection from viewers.  This is a new piece by Director Kwak Jung Hwan who has directed "Jung", "The Slave Hunter" and "Runaway Plan B" and airs every Monday and Wednesday at 9:50PM on tvN.
