Still can’t believe some of your friends have changed their profile pictures to giraffe?

As you browsed your homepage on Facebook, you noticed that all your friends have but one profile image - - a giraffe. And spending a few more seconds to the page, you realize that your friends have all answered a question incorrectly that consequently turned their profiles to your new favorite animal. This is a new game on Facebook and your hundreds of friends are not the only ones to participate in to the new game on the social network as the new craze, now known as “giraffe riddle” has gone viral on the World Wide Web.

The new game now your friends have apparently joined in, involves answering a riddle and the giraffe image comes in when they gave wrong answers. You know when your friends didn’t get it right as they will greet your morning Facebook brows

According to the Telegraph UK, the emerging trend on Facebook poses a question that said: It’s 3am, the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors! It’s your parents and they are here for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?’

Did you say, jam? Honey? Wine? Or did you say, door? If the Facebook user fails to come up with the right answer, he or she is asked to change profile photo into giraffe.

Another penalty for not getting the right answer, is re-posting the riddle, with a private message to friends, enjoining them to participate in the game and asking them private message containing their answer to the riddle.

The riddle has gone viral on Facebook and has earned mixed reactions from the users of the social media network. Some soon grew tired of the giraffe image. Others however, expressed having fun being involved in a “collective fun activity,” like the giraffe riddle.

This is not the first time that changing profile has been a trend on Facebook. It will be recalled that in 2010, users actively participated in the call to change profile picture to their favorite cartoon character - - a move as part of the protest to support children.
