Chris Brown Released from Custody, Charges Reduced to Misdemeanor (Photo/Video)
The felony charges hurled against Chris Brown has been reduced to a misdemeanor and the R&B singer was released from custody Monday, Oct. 28.
Brown appeared before a judge early this week after punching a man who only wanted to have a photo taken with him. But the prosecutors agreed to reduce the felony charges to a misdemeanor and the singer was set free Monday.
The singer and his bodyguard, Chris Hollosy, were both booked Sunday after they were arrested in front of W Hotel in Washington, according to CBS News.
The arrest came after a man, identified by police as Parker Isaac Adams, accused Brown of hitting him when he tried to pose for photo with Brown. The 24-year old singer apparently was not thrilled to have the man in the same frame with a woman and her friend, who he was posing with when the incident occurred.
"I ain't down with that gay s---t" and "I feel like boxing," Brown was quoted as saying by the CBS News, citing the court documents.
The 20-year old man from Beltsville, Md., claimed that the singer and his bodyguard both punched him before getting on his tour bus.
Meanwhile, Brown’s camp vehemently denied the accusations made by the complainant. Still citing the court document, CBS News noted that Brown claimed that someone tried to board his tour bus "and my bodyguard handled it," noted the court documents.
The singer’s body guard supported Brown’s claims and Hollosy told the police that it was him who punched Adams in the face, pointing out that he was doing his job when he saw Adams trying to follow Brown onto the bus.
The singer remains on probation for the assault of his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna. It will be recalled that the former celebrity couple shocked Hollywood when the image of Rihanna swollen face emerged online on the eve of the 2009 Grammy Awards.
