"Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung" Continues to Earn High Ratings in Wednesday Drama Time Slot

MBC's television series "Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung" consistently holds the top spot among Wednesday night dramas.

As stated by Nielsen Korea, the August 21 episode of the said drama achieved a viewership rating of 4.3 percent in the first half, while 6.2 percent in the second half. 

In the first half, the program has an increase of 0.1 percent from last week's result; however, in the second half, the drama dropped by 0.3 percent from its previous score.

KBS's "Justice" took the second spot, having just less than one percent from the first drama, with the first half obtaining 5.0 percent and the second half with 5.8 percent. 

Even though its first-half rating is higher than that of "Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung," media outlets typically determine what drama is the number one of the time slot by the record ratings of the second half. 

Scores for both halves of "Justice" during its August 21 broadcast had an increase from its last week's evaluation, although it was an increase of less than one percent.

SBS's "Doctor Detective" ranked third in the time slot with results of 3.5 percent and 4.0 percent, in the first half and second half, respectively.

The leading drama, "Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung" is already half its story with its episodes 21 and 22 broadcasted on August 21 at 8:55 p.m. KST.

ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo is the male lead actor, Shin Se Kyung is the female lead actor, and the supporting actors are Park Ji Hyun, Lee Ji Hoon, and Park Ki Woong. 

The drama is about the Joseon Dynasty's first female historian named Goo Hae Ryung and her love story with the lonesome prince called Yi Rim, who is secretly a well-known romance novelist.

ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo plays the role of the prince, while Shin Se Kyung is the historian. Their story begins as Hae Ryung does her duties and function within the palace and gets along with Prince Yi Rim, until they confessed their feelings to each other, which has been unveiled in the last few episodes of the drama before the second half.


The consistent ranking and high ratings of the show only proves how well "Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung" gives entertainment to the viewers.
