Kim as a Freshman Student

Kim Hyang-gi wanted to pursue her studies in the field of film and theater. She asked for the advice of her family and friends and came up with the decision to apply in the Department of Theater and Film at Hanyang University. She was looking forward to taking up the courses available in school. Being a playwright interests her because it can be beneficial for actors. She begins to feel fascinated about it because she never encountered topice regarding playwrights before. She also wants to do extracurricular activities as a student. Although she did not know what activity to choose at first. She wanted to have a meal at the school cafeteria.  She did not feel the pressure of turning 20 yet. She is now focused on adjusting properly as a freshman student. She believes that freshmen students face pressure and excitement every day. She is hoping that they get along well and study properly as freshmen students. 

Kim as an actress

Kim thinks every movie she encountered in her career is meaningful. The most meaningful movie for her is 'Heart Is' (2006) because this movie opened more opportunities for her as an actress. She remembered that she was only 6 years old at that time. She can't read yet so her mother used to read her script like a fairytale book in order to make it more understandable for a child.

In the past, she was so curious about multiple personality disorder and she wants to perform a character with multiple personalities. Right now, she is having more interests and she can't decide what particular role she likes. She thinks actors should focus more on character and emotions rather than the role itself. Kim said her main strength as an actress is acting with sincerity. She doesn't have any philosophy of acting. She wanted to become an actress who stays nearby.

She defines acting by comparing it to creating a mind-map. She has a specific actress model in mind and she is doing her best to fit that roll. All the lessons that she learned along the way are used together to create a mind-map that turns her into the kind of actress that she wants to be.

She described her movie Innocent Witness (2019). She said it is the story of a lawyer in charge of a murder case named Yang Soon-ho (played by Jung Woo-sung) who meets an autistic young girl named Lim Ji-woo (played by Kim Hyang-gi), the only person who witnessed the murder. It was released on February 13th, 2019 and gained a lot of attention from viewers.
