"Hi Bye, Mama" Recap: Yu Ri Chooses to Live

Gang Hwa finally told Min Jeong the truth about Yu Ri - that she came back to life. Min Jeong was shocked and locked herself in the room all night. She only went out to wash Seo Woo and prepare her breakfast. She went back inside her room, but Gang Hwa followed and tried to convince her about Yu Ri. Min Jeong felt sad and at a loss for words.

Hyun Jung felt sad thinking of Yu Ri and her relationship with Gang Hwa. She thought of a good way to make Yu Ri happy and enjoy her human life. She went out and asked her husband to watch the restaurant while she was gone. Yu Ri was surprised to see Hyun Jung with a red sports car in front of her house. He invited Yu Ri to spend the day with her.

They drove fast around the highway and went into rope sliding. They visited the park, rode the bicycle, and stopped at the lake for a cup of coffee. Hyun Jung shared her thoughts and experience during the past five years without her. Yu Ri shared that she is always happy watching Hyun Jung and thanked her for their friendship. Yu Ri laughed the whole time as they talked about life and memories. She decided to join Yu Ri and her family for dinner. 

Yu Ri's family bought food to take out and prepared cold beer for them to enjoy time together. Yu Ri had a great time with her best friend and her family.

Min Jeong decided to visit Hyun Jung. When she was at Hyun Jung's restaurant, she saw her with Yu Ri step out of the red car and walked on the other side of the street. She followed them and saw a house that the two entered. Min Jeong checked the names on the house registration and saw Yu Ri's name as one of the family members. Tears rolled down her cheeks. It struck her that Gang Hwa is indeed telling the truth.

Gang Hwa decided to accept Dr. Jang's proposal to join and observe surgery procedures. After Yu Ri died, Gang Hwa was traumatized to enter the operating room. He gets hyperventilated and half-conscious inside with the patient. Gang Hwa felt guilty, thinking that he was a failure for not being able to save Yu Ri when she was rushed to the hospital. 

Unfortunately, the exposure therapy recommended by his psychiatrist still didn't work. He couldn't endure the sight of the patient and went out before it even started. 

Yu Ri accompanied her mother to the hospital for her weekly check-up. While sitting outside the doctor's clinic, she heard the nurses talk about Gang Hwa to join the team of surgeons that day. Surprised to hear it, she ran to the area where Gang Hwa would hide after he had a hard time breathing. Yu Ri helped Gang Hwa to relax and slowly inhale and control his breathing. Gang Hwa sobbed as Yu Ri embraced him. 

Yu Ri hasn't seen Seo Woo for two days already. She already messaged and apologized to Min Jeong about what happened, but she never received any response. She went to Dong Daek (shaman) and explained to her that she decided to stay alive. She wishes to live with her family. She doesn't want to die as what will happen after her 49 days on earth. Dong Daek was surprised by Yu Ri's tough choice.

In the restaurant, Hyun Jung shared with her husband Geun Sang that Yu Ri might die again. It burdens her how to save her friend. Gang Hwa came in and heard their conversation. He screamed at Hyun Jung to explain what she just said. Tearfully, Hyun Jung looked at him.
