"Oh, My Baby" Premiere Recap: Ha Ri's Ultimate Goal is To Be A Mother
Jang Ha Ri was admitted to a delivery room and shouted at seeing a puppy be her baby. She is immersed in her dreams of having a baby of her own. She visited a doctor to submit for any egg fertilization program.
Ha Ri is persistent with her career as an acting chief editor of the "The Baby" magazine. She works hard and scans thoroughly any articles that come out of her department. She always preserved the integrity of parenting and motherhood.
The manager of the publishing company advised Ha Ri to transfer to another department to get easily promoted, considering her hard work and dedication. Being single and not having children would not qualify her for an editor-in-chief position in the future. The magazine promoted motherhood, which she doesn't have any experience yet. That is one of the reasons that Ha Ri is eager to be pregnant and have a baby. The staff under Ha Ri's department are three young ladies who love to eat everytime she brings food for them.
Lee Ok-ran is Jang Ha Ri's mother, who is very energetic and teaches dancing as part of her workout routine. She enjoys and helped out Jae Young ever since his one of Ha Ri's good friends. Jae Young recently divorced his wife and got custody of their 8-month-old daughter. He doesn't have any place to stay, which Lee Ok-ran offered him to use the basement where Ha Ri also lived.
Han Yi Sang is a professional photographer who is sought by several agencies around Seoul. He just arrived from visiting other places and lived near Ha Ri's place. He dislikes Ha Ri from their previous meeting in the past. They've been introduced and went out, but it did not turn out well. He loves to watch horror movies and do things on his own.
Ha Ri met Yi Sang in an unexpected place at the mall wearing a fake baby bump. Yi Sang brought her to the hospital, thinking she was about to deliver a baby. She fainted due to severe pain in her lower abdomen. The doctor advised her that she won't be able to freeze her egg cells as it is delicate already. Ha Ri will turn 40 next year, and chances of having a baby are low.
The doctor advised Ha Ri to get endometriosis surgery the soonest to avoid more pains in the future. This would also affect her fertility since she will be taking drugs for recovery. Ha Ri felt lost after hearing the doctor's summary of her condition. The only thing that keeps her going is to achieve the goal of being a mother.
