“Hospital Playlist” PD Praises Cast + Explains Ik-Jun and Song Hwa's Love Line
Producing Director of the hit series "Hospital Playlist," Shin Won Ho, recently sat down for an interview with Sports Chosun and talked about everything viewers need to know about the finale, the amazing cast, and of course, the anticipated Season 2 of the tvN drama.
Producing Director Shin Won Ho's specialty usually lies in variety shows but little did we know that he is also big on dramas and not to mention he is also behind the hit series "Prison Playbook" and the "Reply" series.
Also mentioning the end of the series' season one, Shin Won Ho says that ending the season one has made him feel relieved but he doesn't feel completely relaxed yet because the series will have another season so he feels as if everything is not done yet. He also gave gratitude towards the viewers for baring his choice of only releasing one episode per week.
Shin Won Ho also commended the cast of "Hospital Playlist," adding that he is thankful for them, especially "99ers": Jo Jung Suk, Kim Dae Myung, Jung Kyung Ho, Jeon Mi Do, and Yoo Yeon Seok. He started with Jo Jung Suk, saying that he is an actor he has never seen before because he adds a lot of new things into his acting, which made Shin Won Ho realize that some things can also be done in different ways.
He praised the youngest in the "99ers," Yoon Yeon Seok, and explained that even though he was the youngest, he was the squad's driving force.
As for Jung Kyung Ho, he called him the "melo-starter."
"When we shot melodramatic scenes, he was not using any particular technique, but it strangely felt unique. Even in brief scenes, he conveyed those emotions well," the Producing Director said.
On the other hand, Kim Dae Myung received praise from the PD because of his vibrant energy. He was always happy and his cheerfulness extended to the "99ers" and the whole drama set.
Shin Won Ho then called Jeon Min Do a model student. Apart from her ability to play multiple pieces in the piano, he constantly surprised him by her intelligence and wit.
PD Shin Won Ho also clarified the confusion between Jo Jung Suk and Jeon Min Do's love line, saying, "There are some parts that are good to know at first, but I think there are some that tend to be distracting. If you know about a love line prior to the later parts, your attention could change."
From the actors' perspective, not knowing can make them worry less. He also added that although the relationship of Ik Joon and Song Hwa's relationship took the viewers by surprise, and there were a lot of hints such as Ik Joon's hand was on Song Hwa's shoulder during their first meeting while Song Hwa blushes.
Lastly, PD Shin Won Ho talked about season two of the drama, hoping that the viewers will not forget the story and cast of the show as they wait for the next season. They will be filming season two at the end of the year and will be releasing it in 2021.
