"Dinner Mate" Recap: Noh-Eul And Jae Hyuk Fought For A Second Chance at Love

Woo Do Hee and Hae Kyung met at the rooftop of the building where they spent the night eating bowl rice together. Woo Doo Hee felt nervous seeing Hae Kyung on the same spot unplanned.

Hae Kyung insisted that they meet many times, not because of coincidence but destiny. They have been dumped at the same time by their first love. They discovered that their first love is coming to win them back. Doo Hee recommends that they are better off as meal buddies, friends who go out as dinner mates. Hae Kyung agreed and they left the rooftop together.

Doo Hee forgot her bag and cellphone at the restaurant. Jae Hyuk took it with him and met Noh-Eul as they are on their way out. She waited for Hae Kyung but he never arrived at their meeting place. The same thing happened with Jae Hyuk. Doo Hee left him as she cannot stand getting back with him again. 

Hae Kyung drove Doo Hee back to her apartment and they agreed to meet again as they plan for their next dinner together.

As they go to bed, they felt happy and excited, knowing they found a new friend. Hae Kyung created a chat room for both of them. They call the chatroom "Dinner Mate." They felt anxious as they think of the day and hoping to see each other again.

After a few days, Hae Kyung invited Doo Hee for a dinner date and they plan to enjoy a pork belly dish with soju. Doo Hee gets excited thinking about it, but Jae Hyuk arrived and persisted in getting back together. He asked forgiveness but did not explain his reason why he suddenly disappeared five years ago. Doo Hee still didn't accept Jae Hyuk's proposal and advised that they can be friends and continue to work for the company.

At the clinic, Hae Kyung was surprised to see his mother and as she stormed inside the room, she handed a book that she wrote and placed it on Hae Kyung's table. He went outside of his office and scolded his assistant. He never wanted to talk or entertain his mother who abandoned him at a young age.

Doo Hee's mother visited her with Jae Hyuk. He walked with Sung Ja and bought her food until they reached Doo Hee's place. She liked Jae Huk to end up marrying Doo Hee. In her frustration, she left Sung Ja and went outside for a drink.

She invited Keanu, the homeless man, at the convenience store. She treats him with soju and dinner, and they both ended drunk. 

Doo Hee walked back home and met Hae Kyung outside her apartment. He came by to give what she left in his car. Doo Hee was surprised to see him and thanked him as she gets back the ring.

Hae Kyung and Do Hee meet for their first dinner mate together. They chose a sumptuous pork belly with soju. They ate the whole meal and Do Hee ordered spicy noddle to wrap the dish. 

They played the strongest-punch game as part of the event of the restaurant. Hae Kyung won and get a life-size penguin stuff toy, which he gave to Doo Hee.

Meanwhile, at the gym, Noh-Eul got mobbed by a group of creditors that her mother forgot to pay. Hae Kyung then rushed to rescue her. He took Noh-Eul away from the crowd and helped her reach her house. She was shocked and preferred to be alone.

Hae Kyung left Doo Hee at the restaurant. He came back to pick her up and but she was already hammered, sulking about her sad life.
