"Dinner Mate" Recap: Hae Kyung Confesses, "I Like You Even Before and After I Know Who You Are."

After he cleared up things with Noh-Eul, Hae Kyung realized the woman he was looking for. He figured out that Do Hee's absences make him long and miss her as well.

Do Hee decided to end meeting Hae Kyung and their time together as dinner mates. She needed to find a new psychiatrist for her show and needed to come up better than Hae Kyung. As she tried to talk and discuss with the staff, a man's voice came saying no need to call other doctors. 

As they all turned around, Hae Kyung stood smiling at Do Hee. Everyone was surprised by his presence at the agency.

They decided to talk at the rooftop away from the office staff. Hae Kyung, in no time, confessed his feelings to Do Hee. He wanted to stay beside the woman he started caring for and love all about her imperfections. He ensures that he has never been serious with anyone as much as he is now with her. 

Afraid to ruin the mood, Do Hee's hesitant how to respond to Hae Kyung's love words. He invited her for dinner. This time, she is more responsive and smiled as they talked about their feelings. She chose not to jump in with his proposal. Do Hee felt that it would not end well since he knew a lot about his sad experience.

Hae Kyung accepted her sentiments and preferred to give her time to trust him more. He offered to guests at her show to be with her often. 

The next day, Noh-Eul went to see Hae Kyung at his clinic. She informed her about his mother's illness. Hae Kyung went to the hospital and found out that Mrs. Lee is in stage 4 cancer. The operation won't guarantee her survival. 

Hae Kyung felt devastated and cried after he realized that he still needed her. They had never been on good terms after his mother abandoned them. Hae Kyung grew up with his father's support. But it never lasted when his father died due to illness. With his father's suffering in the hospital and until the funeral, his mother never came back.

At the 2N Box agency, CEO Nam pressured Do Hee to accept Hae Kyung's offer to appear as a guest in her show. She needs to set a meeting with him to get everything started. When she called and offered the contract, Hae Kyung was happier to see her.

Jae Hyuk is Do Hee's first love and spent five years in their relationship as a couple. He left her without any explanation but insisted he went abroad to pursue his studies. She spent a long time getting over him and worked hard to be successful. 

Now, Jae Hyuk is back in her life, trying to amend things and woo Do Hee to start all over again. He works as a creative editor in 2N Box. It wasn't easy for her, but she let it be and avoided him for romantic dates.

Jae Hyuk knew that Hae Kyung liked Do Hee a lot. He is up to the challenge to fight and win her back. But Do Hee found out the real reason why he disappeared in the past. Jae Hyuk's wealthy parents disagree with their love, and this prompted Jae Hyuk to leave her. She knew these reasons the night as the whole team went out for dinner.

Do Hee felt betrayed by why she fell in love with Jae Hyuk for almost five years without knowing much about him. Do Hee didn't return to the restaurant and found herself walking in the rain.

Out of nowhere, Hae Kyung covered her using his jacket. He brought her to his place and cooked a hot soup for Do Hee. They comforted each other. Hae Kyung assured Do Hee that he likes her before and after he knew all about her life.

Hae Kyung told her, "I like you even before and after I know who you are."
