The cast gathered for the first script reading for "18 Again," including Kim Haneul, Yoon Sang Hyun, and Lee Do Hyun!

Adapted from the popular American movie "17 Again" that features Zac Efron and Mathew Perry, "18 Again" tells the story of a man whose life is going haywire and is about to hit rock bottom. He loses his job, unacknowledged by his children, and is about to get divorced.

In the middle of his life going through chaos, he wakes up one morning as his 18-yea-old self and is given a chance to relive his younger days and ponder what went wrong in his life.

Yoon Sang Hyun will be portraying the main character in his 30s, named Hong Dae Young. He has his own faults and flaws, which makes him a character relatable to a lot of people.

Playing Hong Dae Young's 18-year-old self is actor Lee Do Hyun, who is famous for his role in "Hotel De Luna." When he wakes up as his younger self, he gives himself an alias with the name of Ko Woo Young to hide his identity. But despite his outside appearance, he still carries the personality and the soul of his 30-year-old self.

Playing the role of his wife is actress Jung Dae Jung. She has sacrificed her dreams to take care of her children, and later on, in her life, she decides to pursue her field of expertise. Thus, making her work as a news announcer yet in a lower rank. She is quite busy at home with taking care of her two teenage kids. She is a character that is gentle but also firm as a mom.

Other characters included in the drama are the high school teacher named Kim Yu Ri, baseball player Wie Ha Joon, basketball coach Lee Kee Woo, actor Nong Jung Eui, and Ryeo Won who play as the twin songs of a centre couple in the drama.

Directing the upcoming drama "18 Again" is producing director Ha Byung Hoon, who is famous for "Go Back Couple" and "The Sound of Your Heart." The drama will also include a team of scriptwriters named Kim Do-yeon, Ahn Eun-bin, and Choi Yi-ryoon.

The drama is quite exciting because it revolves around a man who struggles with a number of problems within himself, his job, and his family, which many people can relate to. He gets a second chance in life, and yes, we may not be able to get the literal "second chance" that Hong Dae Young gets, but we do get second chances in different ways that most of us take for granted. It brings the viewers not only entertainment but also lots of takeaways.

JTBC's "18 Again" is said to premiere in September and will air on Mondays and Tuesdays after "Model Detective."
