SBS's "Backstreet Rookie" And tvN's "It's Okay To Not Be Okay" Show Increase in Ratings

The stars aligned this time for both the shows "Backstreet Rookie" and "It's Okay To Not Be Okay" as their latest episodes, aired on July 18, showed a boost in ratings.

"It's Okay To Not Be Okay"

As one of Netflix's original series after scoring the same average nationwide rating for three consecutive episodes, "It's Okay To Not Be Okay" saw a modest increase in viewership as it broadcast the second half. As reported by Nielsen Korea, the latest broadcast of the romance drama scored an average rating of 5.8% and a peak of 6.2% nationwide.

The drama continued to get support in the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49. Some netizens commented they can't wait each week for the continuation. The show takes first place in its time slot across all channels. This includes public broadcast networks reaching and average ratings of 4.2% and a peak of 4.5% for the night.

The latest episode was a rollercoaster ride as it showed one of Kim Soo Hyun's acting ability to bring the viewers to his character's emotions. Oh Jung Se, with his immense experience in acting, showed how versatile his caliber is when it comes to delivering different kinds of roles he is in.

Both actors gave a different meaning of brotherhood and what family means to one another. Seo Ye Ji fought for her right not to be abandoned and continued to stick with the Moon brothers. 

"Backstreet Rookie"

Meanwhile, SBS "Backstreet Rookie" surpassed its challenging controversies with the increase in viewership for its latest episode. It's July 17 and 18 episodes scored average nationwide ratings of 5.3% and 8.4%.

The drama is also transitioning to a thicker and more serious plot, and focuses now on Ji Chang Wook and Kim Yoo Jung into a romantic pair, getting viewers more excited. Ji Chang Wook broke up with his girlfriend and gave a new twist for his new affection. 

Amidst the show's past issues, the director and production team did not get swayed but worked hard to give a different plot change. Worries washed over the ardent viewers when controversies surfaced, whether the cast or show may change in line with the complaints hurled against it. But Ji Chang Wook, Kim Yoo Jung, and the rest of the cast and crew gave the viewers better performances.

With the remaining episodes, we can't wait to see what's in store for the characters' love line.
