"The Legendary Kitchen Soldier," starring Park Jihoon, is tvN's new drama for Sunday-Monday, is gaining traction in South Korea with consistent growth in nationwide ratings for its first three episodes.

The drama garnered 5.847% nationwide ratings for Episode 1, 6.247% for Episode 2, and a high of 7.187% for Episode 3, according to viewership figures released online. Seoul metropolitan ratings also rose overall despite slight fluctuations.

The ratings progression was highlighted in a post originally shared on the Korean community platform theqoo and later translated by Pannchoa. Online commenters largely credited the drama's simple humor and easygoing storytelling for its growing popularity.

A commenter on theqoo described the drama's appeal by saying, "This show is the ultimate brain-dead entertainment. You can just sit back and laugh for an hour without a care in the world. It's totally harmless and so much fun."

Another viewer emphasized the show's family-friendly atmosphere, writing, "I'm watching this with my mom and there isn't one uncomfortably scene. It's seriously too funny."

Several commenters also reacted to the drama's improving ratings numbers as one user simply stated, "Hul, the viewership hit daebak." One comment shared, "It's lighthearted, easy to watch, and fun." Another commenter wrote, "It's such a good drama to watch without too much thinking involved. It's not low quality and it's perfect. It doesn't stress you out either."

The comedic performances also drew praise from online audiences. One viewer commented, "It's fcking funny and fcking entertaining."

Not all reactions were entirely positive, however. A different commentator noted the possible weariness brought about by the repetitive storyline, mentioning, "I've watched up to episode 2 so far, but since the same pattern keeps repeating, I'm starting to get a little bored. I think I'll watch it one more time today."
