Even with the fact that transgenders are still not that openly accepted in South Korea, some actors didn't think twice about challenging themselves in portraying a transgender role in front of the cameras. These actors have no limits when it comes to acting!

As we see them portraying their roles as transgender in dramas and films, our hearts were successfully captured by their fantastic acting skills. Moving forward, we have compiled some of the Korean actors who impressed us with their acting skills by playing a transgender character.

Park Jung Min in "Deliver Us From Evil"

Park Jung Min portrays the character of a transgender woman who is in association with the hitman's acquaintances in Bangkok. Being bribed to receive an enormous amount of money for her surgeries, she agrees to help the hitman in acquiring all the information that he needs from her connections in the nightlife.

Koo Gyo Hwan in "Jane"

A young runaway girl was abandoned by her boyfriend and was feeling devastated and wanted to commit suicide in a motel where her lover left her. Then, in a moment, a transgender woman named "Jane" suddenly approached her, claiming that her boyfriend is also Jane's lover. Both of them eventually became close friends and somehow a unique mother and daughter bond develops. The young girl decided to find the said boyfriend, not for her sake but Jane.

Lee Joon Gi in "The King and The Clown"

"The King and the Clown" tells the story of a king and the troupe who performed as court jesters in the Joseon era. There are two male street clowns and tightrope walkers named Jangsaeng (Kam Woo Sung) and Gong-gil (Lee Joon Gi), that are part of an entertainer troupe. Lee Joon Gi plays the role of Gong-Gil who specializes in female roles; their manager prostitutes him to rich customers in which Jangsaeng felt bad about this practice until one day, Gong-Gil kills the manager in defense of Jangsaeng.

They decided to move to Seoul, and there they form a new group with three other street performers. This movie was a massive hit, drawing over 10 million admissions. This movie also launched actor Lee Joon Gi's career to stardom overnight.

Lee Joo Young in JTBC's "Itaewon Class"

Lee Joo Young, in the JTBC's hit drama "Itaewon Class," portrayed the character of a transgender woman named Ma Hyun. She was able to land a job at DanBam, Park Sae-roy-I business. She was hired there because they were previous acquaintances at a factory, not because she has a talent for cooking.

As the drama continues, she successfully reached being an accomplished chef, and she's become more comfortable about revealing her gender identity. Park Sae-roy-I supports her and lets her know how brave she is and how her feeling okay and good is a top priority than the pub's success.

Choi Seungyoon in tvN's "My Uncle is Audrey Hepburn"

This drama centers its story on a transgender person and the people surrounding him. "My Uncle is Audrey Hepburn" focuses on the sadness that that people feel and the importance of being united as a family. This drama tells the story of Jun Ho (Kim Woo Suk), who is a teenager feeling lonely, and his uncle, who is a transgender person portrayed by an actor (Choi Seung Yeon).

Because of the death of his father, 17-year-old Jun Ho becomes homeless, and his uncle, who is addressed as Audrey ended up being his sole guardian. Jun Ho dislikes his uncle; however, he has no choice but to live with him. After living in the same roof, their lives eventually changed, and the two people who have always lived alone start relying on each other.
