In addition, DGK chose exemplary individuals who contributed to gender equality which includes actress Kim Hee-ae for her role in the film "Moonlit Winter" and will also show her awarding performance in "The World of the Married".

"Moonlit Winter" movie is a film that shares the story of Yoon-hee (played by Kim Hee Ae), a divorcee with one daughter at her side. Yoon-hee grew up and spent years hiding about her true gender preferences until she got married and had a daughter. She was unhappy for most of her married life which made her decide to end it. She lives with her only daughter who later found out about her sexuality.

Sae-bom (played by Kim So Hye) accepted her mother's preference about life and helped her find the woman that she had loved back in her highschool days.

"Moonlit Winter" has become one of the first wide-release Korean films which depicts the real-life obstacles the LGBTQ community face. It portrays the story and sacrifices that many women or men encounter as they live within the social norm.

Kim Hee Ae's character in "The World of the Married" also depicts the challenges that women face while fighting for equality and perception in society as a divorcee.

According to the actress in her recent interviews, "The role I portrayed in "The World of the Married" was different from any past dramas. I am proud of everything in the story and I will continue doing it anytime".

In addition, the actress shared that one of the beach scenes made her think if the drama was a true story as well.

"Bechel Day 2020" will commence from September 1 to 7 that starts a week of gender equality and encourages more Korean film makers to produce content that promotes the said cause.
