Speaking to the film's thematic depth before describing specific scenes, director Kim Byung Woo said, "The Great Flood unfolds over the final day before the world is swallowed by water, focusing on humanity's last stand inside a high-rise apartment complex slowly sinking beneath the waves.."
Insight then pointed out that the trailer was a high-stakes drama with great performances by the leading actors. Kim Da Mi stars as Anna, while Park Hae Soo plays the role of Hee Jo. Both engage in emotionally charged roles.
Hee Jo says to Anna, "Humanity ends today," charging her with the huge responsibility to protect a new generation of humankind.
The trailer also spotlights personal loss among disaster. Introducing a tense emotional scene, Anna reacts to the chaos: "Just let me find him myself," as she searches the flooded building for her son Ja In (Kwon Eun Sung), bringing to the fore human stakes beyond spectacle.
According to ALLKPOP, all scenes in this suspicious golden particle add emotional depth to the story and create suspense for viewers.
In addition, Hee Jo speaks excitedly during the trailer when she says "I'd like to see what you do in the end, Anna," as you watch Anna swim through a giant, open ocean
