Reality television shows are massively popular, and through these, fans can follow the daily lives of their favorite K-pop and K-drama stars. Their goofiness of the cast and guest stars is what viewers live for!

Adding up to the list of good reality TV shows is "New Journey to The West." Sad to say, on August 31, actor Ahn Jae Hyun confirmed he won't be appearing for season 8. Ahn has been actively participating from season 2 to season 6.

Here is a short recap of how the setting of each season went:

In Season 7, the show is filmed in South Korea with the theme "Homecoming," and the producers used the concept from the Spider-Man: Homecoming.

In Season 6, members travelled to Hokkaido (Japan) with a new theme of "Geobong Geobong Geobong (Kyoho grape)". Members dressed up as fruits. Lee Soo-geun played as pear, Eun Ji-won as a farmer, Ahn Jae-hyun as peach, Song Min-ho as grape, Kang Ho-dong plays watermelon, and P.O as a sprout. The member had to pair up as teams to play games. Later on, Lee Soo-geun becomes the "Golden Hand." However, in the middle of season 6, the members went home to South Korea all together in a house to play games and win rewards.

In season 5, one member, Kyuhyun, got enlisted in the military, so P.O. joined as a guest. The member went to Hong Kong with a new theme of "With Ghost." P.O plays as Dracula, Kang Ho-dong as Kaonashi or No-Face, Lee Soo-geun as Chucky, Eun Ji-won plays Grim Reaper, Ahn Jae-hyun plays Chinese Zombie while Song Min-ho as Virgin Female Ghost. They were not able to succeed in the final mission as Lee Soo-geun, and Song Min-ho failed to change clothes in a given time. Thus they did not receive the dragon balls for their prize.

In Season 2 to 4, cast members travel to several parts of China and Vietnam to find the seven dragon balls. The same members appeared from season 3 and 4; they take on a new theme, "The apocalypse of Hell."

After all their hardwork, the members successfully collected all seven dragon balls and receive their rewards from the production team.

For the first season, Lee Seung-gi, Kang Ho-dong, Eun Ji-won and Lee Soo-geun got reunited. The four members each take one of the characters from the classic 16th century Chinese novel Journey to the West. The four went on a 5-days and 4 night backpacking trip through Xian, China.

Lee Seung Gi plays Tang Sanzang, a Buddhist monk in the novel, Lee Soo Geun as Sun Wukong, a monkey character with the greatest sin, Eun Ji Won plays Sha Wujing, a celestial being who is either immature or genius villain, and Kang Ho Dong plays Zhu Bajie, a pig character who is very strong but is slow in thinking.

New Journey to The West is a South Korean travel-reality show and a first project from "tvN Go."
