Gong Yoo Expresses Fondness for Classics, Shares The Lessons He Gained From His Hardships

In light of his upcoming "Coffee Prince" documentary, let's talk more about famous actor Gong Yoo! "Coffee Prince" leading man Gong Yoo had a photoshoot and interview with GQ magazine, where he revealed that he is fond of anything classic, how he is as a person and an actor, and also showed his daily routine.

The actor was questioned, "Do you like classic things?"

He responded that he is starting to love classic things more, not just in clothes but also other stuff like furniture and cars. He prefers the basic and classic rather than the current fancy style or over excessive apparel. And since he is in his 40s, he thinks classic style suits his age well.

The next question asked to him was, "Is there something we gain after enduring hardships?"

The actor replied that for him doing a project that is making you struggle physically is a continuous series of hardships. Though he finds it hard, he still insists on doing it because it was helpful for the emotional training of the character.

The actor was then asked about the "Actor Gong Yoo and the normal human, Gong Ji Chul (his real name) seem to become more comfortable and flexible over time?"

The actor commented that he's not greedy. Although it's a very common expression, it's quite hard to find the words to substitute for this. He continued saying that he keeps on reminding himself that it's okay if he doesn't do that right now. And things shouldn't be in a hurry. The actor added that at his age right now, it is the time that these thoughts can be possible.

Nowadays, he has a lot of time, so he can be able to do whatever he wants regardless of what people say. Thinking about the past, he hated what people would say but now he doesn't care anymore. Being mature enough, he started to think that he could be missing out on so many things if he keeps on caring about what other people think. He added that it would feel a lot lighter once we are can break free from this.

Lastly, Gong Yoo was asked if there is anything that he does to keep his mind from breaking down.

The actor shared that he feels cautious in saying anything because he has only lived half of his life, and in the end, all the characters he portrayed are also himself. He added that in his point of view, he doesn't think that he's a broad or deep person, but the way people see him in a positive note gives him the inspiration to become a better version of himself.

We can all see that Gong Yoo has finally found peace between himself and as an actor. He has matured enough to understand what will give him peace and make him happy.
