Jung So Min, now one of South Korea's most beloved romantic comedy stars, recently shared her journey to success, which began with defiance and determination.

Before reaching fame with roles in Playful Kiss, Because This Is My First Life, and Alchemy of Souls, Jung faced strong opposition from her family regarding her artistic ambitions.
Initially trained in ballet, she switched to Korean traditional dance and excelled, eventually earning reluctant approval from her parents.
Her passion for acting developed unexpectedly after she joined an academy to improve her stage expression.

Despite her parents' disapproval, Jung secretly took acting lessons. The risk paid off when she became valedictorian of Korea National University of Arts' acting department.
Jung debuted in the 2010 drama Bad Guy and quickly won over audiences. Her natural chemistry with co-stars and relatable charm made her a regular in rom-coms.
Most recently, she starred in Love Next Door with Jung Hae-in and is set to return this October in Marry Me in Space with Choi Woo-shik, a quirky story about a newlywed alien-human couple.
Jung's story shows that dreams, even when pursued in secret, can lead to stardom.
