Actor Shim Hyung Tak shared a painful moment from his past during the July 23 episode of KBS2's The Return of Superman.

He revealed that he was alone on his wedding day because of distant family ties.
With his wife, Saya, and their 6-month-old son, Haru, by his side, Shim tearfully expressed, "When I got married, my family didn't come. Not a single member of my blood was there.
I was alone that day." He continued, "I was hurt by my family, and it was so hard that I thought I would die. The person who helped me at that time is my current wife. She helped me breathe and stand up again."

Shim also looked back on their early relationship, saying, "My wife didn't know Korean at first, so we used a translator to communicate.
Even though we could talk, she didn't understand my personality. Later, she joked, 'I didn't know he was like this.'" He laughed at the memory.
Park Soo-hong, who was with Shim during the segment, reached out and held his hand. "You know how I feel," he said, offering silent support. This emotional moment between two men with similar experiences touched many viewers.
The broadcast focused on themes of healing, resilience, and the quiet strength of chosen family.
