Jang Ki Yong and Girl’s Day Hyeri to Star in the New Fantasy-Romance Drama ‘A Falling Cohabitation’
In a previous news, Jang Ki Yong and Hyeri from the K-Pop girl group Girl's Day were in talks to star in a new drama together. On Dec. 03, it has been confirmed that the two actors will finally unite in a new romance fantasy drama!
The series that they will be working on is titled "A Falling Cohabitation" and will be broadcasted on tvN in the first half of 2021. The drama is based on a Naver webtoon, which started to be serialized in 2017, and upon the announcement of its adaptation, it instantly became a hot topic online.
It's a romance-fantasy drama about Lee Dam, a female college student who incidentally swallows the marble of a male gumiho (nine-tailed fox). The gumiho is named Shin Woo Yeo, who is already near in attaining his dream of becoming a human. But, if a human swallows the marble, they can only live for a year, and the marble will shatter, avoiding the gumiho from turning into a human. To solve the problem, Shin Woo Yeo decides to live with Lee Dam, and unexpectedly develops feelings for her.
Actor Jang Ki Yong will be playing the role of a gumiho as Shin Woo Yeo, who has an inevitable handsome look, good body proportion, and an irresistible charm. He also lived for 999 years.
Lee Hyeri will be Lee Dam, a female college student who is not afraid to speak the truth. She is a strong and straightforward person who is goal-oriented, which is why she has never been in a romantic relationship before. She also accidentally swallowed the gumiho's marble.
Meanwhile, the two actors already proved to be the perfect fit for their soon to be roles. After meeting each other, Ki Yong and Hyeri's personalities are 200% compatible with the original webtoon characters, so it's gaining high expectations from the fans.
"A Falling Cohabitation" will be put into words by the great writers Baek Sun Woo and Choi Bo Rim, who also wrote the hit Korean drama "What's Wrong with Secretary Kim?" And it will be directed by Nam Sung Woo, who is also known for his project "Kkondae Intern."
The production team happily shared, "We are very excited to bring the popular webtoon 'A Falling Cohabitation' into a drama adaptation. We have been receiving many requests to bring it to life, and now it will be happening." He also added, "The main actors Jang Ki Yong and Lee Hyeri are gaining more support and high expectations for they are very synchronized with the characters that they will play. This will be a fresh start for being back on screen after their previous projects. Jang Ki Yong, with his latest dramas "Search:WWW" and "Born Again," fans and viewers are highly waiting for Ki Yong's transformation in this forthcoming romance fantasy series. Same as Hyeri, who made a big impact on the audience with her character as Sung Deok Sun in the drama "Reply 1988" and "Two Cops."
