Per DAUM, the series debuted on April 18, 2026, featuring Koo Kyo-hwan and Ko Yoon-jung. It was penned by Park Hae-young, the acclaimed writer behind hits such as "My Mister" and "My Liberation Diary." The series deals with themes of envy, jealousy, and the human search for peace when feeling left behind compared to successful peers.

The combination of Koo Kyo-hwan, Ko Yoon-jung, and Park Hae-young was highly anticipated even before the first episode aired. Director Cha Young-hoon, known for "When the Camellia Blooms," also contributes to the project.

Regarding the characters and story, initial audience reaction has been mixed. A lot of people struggled to sympathize with Hwang Dong-man (Koo Kyo-hwan), who was getting ready for his directorial debut after 20 years, because he appeared too pitiful. Some wondered about the rationale behind Byun Eun-ah's (Ko Yoon-jung) support for such a character when she played the role of an efficient planning PD.

On the other hand, some people responded positively. People commended the actors for their brilliant performances and said that their acting made it easy for viewers to get absorbed in the show. They also stated that the role played by Oh Jung-se as Park Kyung-se would lighten up the drama.

Per Zapee, "Mojamussa" started with a 2.2% nationwide viewership rating and maintained that in its second episode. Although ratings on Saturdays were affected by competing dramas like SBS's "Law Office of the Gods" and MBC's "The Grand Prince's Wife of the 21st Century," Sunday broadcasts did not show significant improvement despite less competition.

In contrast, on Netflix, the drama quickly soared to No. 1 in Korea's "Today's Top 10 Series" category from its second day on air. According to FlixPatrol, an OTT platform analytics site, "Mojamussa" ranked within the top 10 series in Latin American countries such as Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia just one day after release. It has since gained traction in countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Singapore.

Industry watchers are now focused on how the series will perform in the official Netflix global rankings scheduled for release next week.

"Mojamussa" airs Saturdays at 10:40 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 p.m. on JTBC.
