“The Penthouse” Remains to Stay Strong in Viewership Ratings

The ongoing SBS hit drama "The Penthouse" remains strong as they continue to lead the Monday-Tuesday evening time slot.

Based on reports by Nielsen Korea, the Dec. 22 episode of the series recorded an average nationwide viewership ratings of 19.1 and 24.0 percent. This marked the new personal best for the drama following their highest rating episode last week whic garnered 23.7 percent.

The KBS's new drama "Royal Secret Agent" also made a rise on its rating for its second episode. While MBC's "Kairos" broadcasted its final episode garnering ratings of 3.3 percent, not far from their personal best record of 3.7 percent. On tvN, "Awaken" also made a small rise from its last episode, gaining 4.103 percent. Lastly, JTBC, "Live On," gained record ratings of 0.6 percent.

It seems like SBS's "The Penthouse" has been taking the top place for every survey as well as rankings in South Korea. It also keeps its top spot on the list of the most buzzworthy dramas!

Good Data Corporation also revealed on Dec. 22 their chart for the third week of December that rates dramas that generated the most buzz. The rankings released each week are based on data collected from various online platforms like blogs, news articles, and social media involving dramas currently on-air or coming soon.

Well, of course, "The Penthouse" remained at the number one position for four consecutive weeks, while "The Uncanny Counter" replaced "True Beauty" in the number two spot, pushing the latter down to the third place. Meanwhile, "Mr. Queen" remained in fourth place, followed by a new entry, tvN's "Run On."

  5. JTBC's "Run On" with 5.63 percent
  6. JTBC's "Hush" with 3.43 percent
  7. MBC's "Kairos" with 3.07 percent
  8. KBS2's "A Man in a Veil" with 2.69 percent
  9. KBS2's "Homemade Love Story" with 2.68 percent
  10. JTBC's "Live On" with 2.23 percent
