Episode 1: Here's the Recap of the New Netflix K-Drama 'Lovestruck In The City' Premiere
K-drama Netflix release, "Lovestruck in The City," just premiered, providing viewers with not only one couple to stan but three others as well!
The new Netflix K-drama, "Lovestruck in The City," also known as "City Couple's Way of Love," is not your typical K-drama as one episode runs for about thirty minutes as opposed to regular K-dramas that typically run for about an hour and a half. Netflix's new take on this is absolutely far from lacking, but surprisingly enough for one episode!
The first episode of "Lovestruck in The City" starts with the main characters being interviewed one by one while being filmed. The series of interviews introduces 32-year-old architect Park Jae Won (Ji Chang Wook), 29-year-old Lee Eun O (Kim Ji Won), fellow architect Choi Kyung Joon (Kim Min Seok), Seo Rin Yi (So Ju Yeon) whom viewers will be getting to know more in the next episodes, Oh Sun Young (Han Ji Eun), who is a casanova, and Kang Geon (Ryu Kyung Soo), who loves to film people.
Through these interviews, the lives of these couples are documented as if they were in a documentary which shows their journey towards true love in the city.
After the interviews, each of the characters is seen in their respective homes where the viewers will get to know more about them, their personalities, and how each of their lives intersects one another. While the first few minutes introduce the different characters and couples, the first episode mainly focuses on one couple: Jae Won and Eun O.
As both of them are asked about their relationship, both also agree to blame Eun O for their relationship going haywire. However, Jae-Won is not at all ignorant of his own faults in the relationship. Despite the troubles of their relationship, both are thankful to go through such an experience as it taught them to live their lives the way that they want to.
In September 2019, viewers are directed to a scene where Eun O picks up Jae Won at the airport where Eun-O is obviously attracted to Jae-Won. Inside the car, Eun-O's intense and bubbly personality makes her cranks up the radio with songs and asks Jae-Won to sing along with her. Jae-Won catches himself staring at Eun-O and basking at her strong and fun personality which was the exact moment Jae-Won started falling for Eun-O.
After hanging out, Jae Won is incapable of taking his eyes off of Eun O as she runs around the beach playing with her dog. "She shines," dog-eyed Jae Won shares to his companion Bin.
That night, Bin and Ra-Ra host a barbeque party somewhere around the seashore as people rush about, getting a charge out of the celebrations. Individuals play Jenga, beer pong, and consume a large amount of alcohol until the lights go out.
The entirety of this is important for a trick, however, as Riri and Bin arrange everybody into various gatherings in a game including embracing together. It's a very pleasant little icebreaker, one that at last observes Jae-Won make a striking signal before everybody, holding Eun O's wrist and glancing somewhere down in her eyes. As firecrackers shimmer in the night sky above, Jae Won mirrors that he just loved her at that point.
Let's continue to follow the story of Jae-Won and Eun O and discover more of the other couples as we wait for the next episodes of the new romance drama "Lovestruck in The City"! It airs every Tuesday, Friday at 17:00 (KST).
