Ong Seong Wu Receives Casting Offer for New Film ‘The Seoul Sting’
Ong Seong Wu is currently in talks to star in a new movie!
According to reports, singer-actor Ong Seong Wu is in talks to star in the new film titled "The Seoul Sting." On Feb. 27, the actor's agency Fantagio released their statement confirming that their artists indeed received a casting offer for the project, and he is positively reviewing it.
"The Seoul Sting": Action-Packed '80s Crime Movie
"The Seoul Sting" is a crime action-themed film set during the 1988 Seoul Olympics. It will tell the story of an unbelievably grand and impressive plot for a slush fund robbery. The film will be directed by Moon Hyun Sung, the person who also helmed the films "As One" and "The King's Case Note."
It was previously announced last December 2020 that "#ALIVE" actor Yoo Ah In is also in talks to star in the film.

Ong Seong Wu as Singer and Actor
South Korean singer and actor Ong Seong Wu was born on August 25, 1995. The 25-year-old celebrity is widely recognized for his participation in the survival reality show Produce 101 Season 2. He is a former member of the show's derivative boy group Wanna One.
After the disbandment of Wanna One, Ong Seong Wu focused on acting and made his small screen debut in "At Eighteen" (2019), where he starred alongside Kim Hyang Gi and Shin Seung Ho. The drama addresses some of the issues that young people encounter, such as experiencing first love, the pressures of school, and parental expectations, and also sensitive topics such as school violence.
In the drama, Ong Seong Wu stars as the of transfer student Choi Jun Woo who was wrongly accused of being a perpetrator of school violence. The "Gravity" singer gained praises for his touching performance and he was able to take home several acting awards for his portrayal in the drama, which includes the Best Rookie Award and Hallyu Star Award at the Korea Drama Awards.
In addition, Ong Seong Woo also recorded the song "Our Story" as part of the official soundtrack for the drama, which was released on August 8, 2019.
Ong Seong Wu's latest acting project was in the JTBC drama "More Than Friends" where he starred alongside Shin Ye Eun and Kim Dong Jun. Ong Seong Wu starred as the main male lead in the drama, portraying the character of the photographer named Lee Soo. The drama premiered last September 25, 2020.
Meanwhile, it seems that this year will be a very busy year for star. Ong Seong Wu is currently in preparation for his silver screen debut in the upcoming musical film "Life Is Beautiful." He is also in the middle of filming his comedy movie titled "Jung Family Cattle Ranch."
