Park Shi Hwan, one of the candidates for "Super Star K5" who received the lowest score from the judges but the highest popularity from the text surveys, became a finalist.

On the other hand, Song Hee Jin, who received the highest score from the judges, failed to become a finalist. As the text surveys weigh more than the judges' scores, popularity, rather than performance, is governing the results of "Super Star K5."

On the November 8, 2013, episode of cable channel Mnet's audition program, "Super Star K5," Song Hee Jin, Park Jae Jung, and Park Shi Hwan competed for the two finalist positions.
