Kim Junsu to Make a Comeback on Stage with Upcoming Musical ‘Dracula’

Singer and actor Kim Junsu (also known as XIA) is gearing up for a comeback on stage. He will be meeting the audience once again with a new exciting season for the musical "Dracula."

His last stage performance was in 2020.

Kim Junsu to Make His Return on the Musical Stage

Following his stage musical "Mozart!" in 2020, the 34-year-old singer-actor is confirmed to join the cast of the hit musical "Dracula." This is said to be his fourth time appearing in the same musical.

The artist started to be part of the cast in 2014 for its first season, in 2016 for the second season, 2020 for the third season, and 2021 for the forthcoming fourth season.

Originally, the said musical is an adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel, an Irish novelist. It depicts the story of Count Dracula who has been loving the same woman for almost a thousand years already.

"Dracula" has become one of Kim Junsu's iconic performances because of his excellent portrayal the character of the main lead, Count Dracula. He effortlessly dominates the stage with his strong, powerful vocals and superb acting.

After being part of the musical four times in a row, Kim Junsu is all set to create a new magnificent performance this 2021!

In addition, the hit musical "Dracula" was able to garner 100,000 viewers in just two months at the time of its premiere in 2014. And it's not just that as its sophomore season in 2016, 3,000 seats were sold out at Sejong Center for its two weeks showing.

This year (2021), "Dracula" will open again it's curtains with Kim Junsu on board. The musical will start to run on May 18 and will end on August 1. It will be held in Blue Square's Shinhan Card Hall.

Kim Junsu's Previous Stage Play Performances

Kim Junsu started his career in stage plays in 2010 with "Mozart" in the character of Wolfgang Mozart.

In 2011 he returned in the second season of "Mozart" and joined the cast of "Tears of Heaven."

Since then various stage musicals were given to him such as "Elisabeth," "December," "Dracula," "Death Note," "Dorian Gray," and "Xcalibur."

Being on stage in consecutive years, there is no doubt that Kim Junsu really loves and enjoys singing and acting in stage musicals. In fact, he won several best new actor awards for his outstanding performances.
