Despite the controversy, 2021 seems to be a good year for SNSD's Seohyun as she lands Netflix's movie "Moral Sense."

The 29-year-old beauty is confirmed to appear in the upcoming movie alongside U-KISS's Jun.

Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, the romance comedy film will be directed by Park Hyun Jin, whose famous works include the 2017 drama "Idol Fever."

Moreover, the forthcoming Netflix movie will be under the production of Seed Film company.

"Moral Sense" Cast and Synopsis

Aside from the duo, "Moral Sense" cast members also include "Ghostderella" star Kim Bo-Ra.

Although the streaming giant was tight-lipped about the release, fans were excited about her big-screen debut. This will be the first time that Seohyun will appear as the lead star in a movie.

In the movie, the singer-actress is set to play the role of Jung Ji Woo, who has a bizarre relationship with her co-worker Jung Ji Hoo, portrayed by Lee Junyoung.

"Moral Sense" also features a surprising revelation about the characters' unusual obsession as it involves BDSM fantasies and S&M fetishes.

This piqued the public's interest as Seohyun's visual portrays an innocent and angelic vibe, which contradicts her role in the movie.

The confirmation of Seohyun's movie came weeks before Kim Jung Hyun's bombshell controversy came to light.

At the time, multiple outlets revealed a resurfaced issue between the Girls' Generation member and her "The Time" co-actor, who was accused of misbehavior on set.

The "Crash Landing on You" star faced a wave of backlash after fans highlighted their 2018 press conference where the actor remained expressionless.

However, he explained that it was because he is staying in his character, adding, "Both on and offset, I'm trying to live my entire life like Cheon Soo Ho. No matter the situation, whether I'm sleeping or in between activities in the car, I'm trying to keep the person named Kim Jung Hyun from coming out and making any decisions."

Unfortunately, fans continued to hound the 31-year-old celebrity with negative issues and were also accused of giving the singer-actress a cold treatment, which made it hard for Seohyun to portray her role.

Seo Ye Ji Gets Involved in Kim Jung Hyun Controversy

In the wake of the issue, Seo Ye Ji gets dragged on the controversy and was named by Dispatch as the mastermind behind the "Mr. Queen" actor's rude behavior towards his leading lady.

At the time, the "It's Okay to Not" be Okay" actress was in a relationship with Kim Jung Hyun.

The outlet even revealed a series of text messages between the two and showed that the Baeksang Arts nominee is instructing her then-boyfriend to avoid skinship and refrain from having physical contact with Seohyun.

The negative publicity has caused Seo Ye Ji's career to dwindle after advertisers were rumored to cut their ties with the 31-year-old actress.
