EXO’s Xiumin to Possibly Join the Cast of the Upcoming Musical Play ‘Hadestown’
EXO's sub vocalist and sub rapper Xiumin might have his return on the theater stage!
EXO Member Xiumin is Courted to Play the Role of Orpheus
In a recent media report on April 22, Xiumin was courted to be part of the upcoming musical "Hadestown," that is set to meet the audience in Korea this August (2021).
"Hadestown" recreates a version of the famous ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, a story where Orpheus bravely goes to the underworld to save the woman he loved, Eurydice. It will be a musical adaptation of singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell's concept album, "Hadestown." The play is known to have many musical numbers with various genres, starting from pop, jazz, blues, and folk. The musical play brings Greek mythology to a tight setting of the great depression.
Also, "Hadestown" has won eight Tony Awards since it premiered last March 2019. Singer and actor Xiumin is rumored to take the role of Orpheus. This is not the first time that the 31-year-old artist will be meeting the viewers through stage plays. In fact, Xiumin already portrayed various characters that wowed the audience. He played Kim Seung Ho in the army musical "Return: The Promise of That Day" in 2019 and he also portrayed Hyun Min in the same musical in 2020.
Meanwhile, Xiumin and his home agency SM Entertainment haven't released any statement yet confirming his participation in the musical. Hence, "Hadestown" is set to premiere in August at LG Art Center in Seoul.
Apart from his powerful vocals and strong stage presence, Xiumin can immediately grab the viewer's attention. He has been performing for years and still, he knows how to make the crowd loud and proud.

Aside from theater plays, Xiumin also started doing drama projects in 2015 with "EXO Next Door" and "Falling for Challenge." Recently, two of his co-members were also pursuing a career in acting. Chanyeol already launched his much-awaited musical film "The Box," which already ranked number 1 at the movie box office. It was also released in various countries.

Joining them as rising actors is EXO's maknae, Sehun. He just started to film his upcoming drama "Now, We are Breaking Up" alongside actress Song Hye Kyo, actor Jang Ki Yong, and more.
