CIX’s Bae Jinyoung to Debut as Lead Actor in an Upcoming Drama

CIX Bae Jinyoung, former member of Wanna One (a boy group formed through the second season of survival show "Produce 101") will make his debut as a lead star in an upcoming South Korean drama.

The 22-year-old singer conquered the stage with the project group for two amazing years, gaining popularity and a solid fan base from all around the world.

After Wanna One's disbandment in 2019, Bae Jinyoung debuted as a singer and center in CIX, his current group, a five-membered boy group under C9 Entertainment.

Bae Jinyoung to Play the Lead Role in Upcoming Drama

On July 30, Bae Jinyoung's agency, C9 Entertainment officially announced that CIX's member Bae Jinyoung will be making his acting debut in the upcoming drama "@ Account Has Been Deleted" (literal translation).

C9 Entertainment stated that the singer has been casted as the male lead actor in WHYNOT's original, "@ Account Has Been Deleted".

"@ Account Has Been Deleted" is a romance drama that depicts the story of two high school students who happen to have the same name. When they both transferred to a new school at the same time, they turned their lives around after swapping identities with each other.

The upcoming drama tackles the themes of teen angst and romance that fans will surely empathize and relate to as they go through conflicts of friendship and love while keeping their identities to their vests.

Bae Jinyoung will play as the most popular student and golden boy Shin Yi Joon, an aloof, frosty, and rigid guy but is actually a warm and soft person.

The upcoming drama "@Account Has Been Deleted" is produced by WHYNOT Media, the same production media who released "To Us Who Were Beautiful," "Romance For Only 7 Days," and "Melo Not Solo."

"@Account Has Been Deleted" is in production and is slated to premiere in November. The drama will broadcast on ZongTV and aims to air in both Korea and Japan.

Meanwhile, CIX are coming back with a new full album "'OK' Prologue : Be OK" on August 17.
