'Jirisan' Episode 3: Ju Ji Hoon Discovers Shocking Truth About the Mountain

'Jirisan' Episode 3 Highlights: Seo Yi Kang Gets Suspicious About Jo Dae Jin
As the thriller mystery K-drama continues its third episode, Seo Yi Kang (Jun Ji Hyun) is eager to crack a series of strange scenarios on Mount Jirisan.
In "Jirisan" episode 3, it featured the present time when she tried to put the pieces together to shed light on Kang Hyun Jo's (Ju Ji Hoon) conclusion about the mountain.
While gathering information that she got through the help of rookie ranger Lee Da Won (Go Min Si), she went into the chief ranger's files owned by Jo Dae Jin (Sung Dong Il)
Interestingly, she was stunned to see the yellow ribbons which were hidden at his desk.
Moreover, she also recalled what Hyun Jo said to him in the past.
"When I got injured here before, there were yellow ribbons. If they belonged to the illegal hikers, wouldn't they lead to the top? But not those ribbons. They were tied the other way as if they wanted you to get lost." he said.
While the tvN series stimulates the curiosity of the viewers whether Jo Dae In is connected to the mysterious cases and the yellow ribbon, "Jirisan" episode 3 also discovered another death at the mountain.

The Missing Granny Geum Rye
Flashback to 2018 when Haedong Ranger Station got a call about missing granny Geum Rye. For the past years, she has been going to the mountains several times to commemorate the death of her mother, who died at Jirisan.
Since she often visits the area, the park ranger knew her as one of the notorious illegal hikers.
Upon receiving the call, both Seo Yi Kang and Kang Hyun Jo went on search; however, the rookie ranger insisted that they try looking at a specific area in the mountain.
It came after Hyun Jo had visions about the incident.
Meanwhile, a flashback of granny Geum Rye was featured in "Jirisan" episode 3.
As soon as she reached her destination, she laid out offerings for her mother, including a yogurt drink and different kinds of fruits alongside an old photo of her and her mother.
On the other hand, the two park rangers continued their search and saw the old lady's offerings laid out for her dead mother; however, Yi Kang felt something was odd.
It's because she knew that granny Geum Rye would never leave any of her stuff, most especially the only photo she had of her mother.
Kang Hyun Jo Meets his former Colleagues
While on their search Kang Hyun Jo accidentally bumps into one of his former colleagues who were doing a march at Mount Jirisan.
Here, "Jirisan" episode 3 hints at Kang Hyun Jo's past as a military captain and the reason why he opted to work at Jirisan.
Meanwhile, he also took the opportunity to ask the team captain if they ever saw an old woman who went on the hike.
Interestingly, private Ahn heard the conversation and told them that he saw a civilian looking at a pink rucksack.
Seo Yi Kang immediately knew that it belonged to granny Geum Rye.
Another Death Hits Mount Jirisan
As the third episode continues, "Jirisan" shows what the old hiker went through while she was missing.
It appears that she is suffering from hallucinations after she saw a flashback of her mother being burned and shot on the mountain.
Interestingly, Yi Kang managed to trace the location of granny Geum Rye through her cellphone; however, they were too late.
Kang Hyun Jo found the old woman's lifeless body near the spring, which made Seo Yi Kang shocked and speechless since the lost hiker was a friend of her grandmother.
Private Ahn Went Missing
As soon as they advised the Haedong Ranger Station about granny Geum Rye's death, the rookie ranger got a call from his former colleague.
He was informed that Private Ahn was missing and asked for help to locate him.
After an hour of searching, they found the soldier who was about to fall off the cliff.
Luckily Hyun Jo got him but was surprised to see that he was suffering from a poisonous substance.
Here, he figured out that unknown entities did not cause the mysterious incident, but a person whom he believes murdered his comrade.
