‘Jirisan’ Episode 6: Jun Ji Hyun Reunites with Her First Love

'Jirisan Episode 6 Highlights: Seo Yi Kang Being the Grinch of Jirisan
The sixth episode began on the holiday of 2008. The park rangers are excited about their agendas together with their loved ones.
Unfortunately, Kang Hyun Jo (Ju Ji Hoon) was forced to take the shift on Christmas eve after Jung Goo Young (Oh Jung See) asked him to take his place--this is because Lee Yang Sun (Joo Min Kyung) finally agreed to go out on a date with him.
As for the veteran park ranger, Yi Kang hates Christmas, so instead of spending it with her grandma, she usually takes a shift on this day.
Interestingly, while at the station, Hyun Jo got a call from ranger team leader Park Il Hae (Jo Han Chul) about a turnover that he forgot to mention.
A certain Cheol Kyeong (Son Seok Koo) will be coming to pick up his belongings.
Upon hearing the name, Seo Yi Kang was stunned to know that she might be a familiar face at Jirisan.
It was only Jung Goo Young who told the rookie part ranger that the visitor was her first love.

How Seo Yi Kang Met her First Love
"Jirisan" episode 6 also featured Seo Yi Kang's teenage years.
The drama showed that she spent time at a youth facility that caters to teens who seem lost and troubled.
Interestingly, she was captivated by Cheol Kyeong's charm and his warmth to other people; unfortunately, they didn't get a chance to get close to each other.
However, they were able to meet outside the youth center. They both worked in the same restaurant in Seoul to make ends meet.
Unfortunately, he gets caught up in a bad situation after the owner accused Cheol Kyeong of stealing a motorcycle.
Yi Kang defended him, but they ended up being fired by the restaurant owner.
One of Cheol Kyeong's parting words for her is that he promised not to live in humiliation again.
Seo Yi Kang Reunited with Cheol Kyeong
"Jirisan" episode 6 gave a background on Seo Yi Kang's past.
Apart from meeting her first love, Seo Yi Kang could not hide her disappointment at the news that she is one step closer to reuniting with him again.
As mentioned, he is set to go to Mount Jirisan to claim his belongings; however, the park rangers receive a call from the police warning about a suspicious man, who is a drug squad detective and is currently wanted for bribery.
Kang Hyun Jo was surprised to learn that the wanted person is Cheol Kyeong. Due to this, he feels that he needs to go to the mountain to find Seo Yi Kang.
Meanwhile, while on her rounds at the snowy mountain, Yi Kang finds an injured female identified as a drug detective and is on a mission to find Cheol Kyeong.
Yi Kang then led her to their station to stay for the night and continue to search for her wanted colleague the next day.
Unfortunately, at the Bidam Station, Yi Kang finds the unconscious Jung Goo Young lying around on the floor bloodied; however, she also faced the same situation after the female detective hit her on the head, causing her to lose consciousness.
While hearing their conversation, she learned that they are hunting Cheol Kyeong because he holds the evidence to their case and wanted it wiped out.
Luckily, Hyun Jo and the police came to rescue Yi Kang and Jung Goo Young and arrested the two-drug detectives accused of bribery.
Here, Cheol Kyeong and Seo Yi Kang had a heart-to-heart talk about their past. She learned that he also harbors the same feelings back then, but it's now too late.
The park ranger was heartbroken to know that he was now married.
"I have something to confess to you. You were right. I stole that money a long time ago. I wanted to buy a motorcycle and go to the beach with you. After a few months, I went to the boss and returned the money. I'm sorry, I lied. I'll call you next time I really go hiking. My wife also likes mountains," he said.
Kang Hyun Jo's Vision
After an eventful day, Seo Yi Kang and Kang Hyun Jo went out for a drink.
Here, he learned about why she decided to become a park ranger.
While he brought the drunk Yi Kang to her place, he saw her old photos at the mountain and recalled how she slowly learned about the mountain by heart.
However, upon seeing her photos, he had a vision of a mountain being engulfed in a fire.
