On December 3, "Voice" actress Jung Ryeo Won and "Happiness" actor Lee Kyu Hyung were confirmed to appear in the forthcoming drama "Let's Begin the Defense" (literal title) (also referred to as "Let's Start the Defense").
Jung Ryeo Won and Lee Kyu Hyung To Star in New Drama 'Let's Begin the Defense'
The upcoming legal mystery drama "Let's Begin the Defense" depicts the stories of two different public defenders who get entangled in a serial murder case of wealthy elderly people.
Jung Ryeo Won, who is set to return to the small screen after two years, stars as No Chak Hee. She is a public defense lawyer who was once a top notch lawyer with a high winning rate.
Her name "Chak Hee" translates to "living a good life," but her family name "No" contradicts it. Chak Hee is filled with determination and passion for her profession. She will do anything to win a case.
However, her license was almost suspended after she got involved in a certain case. Chak Hee's goal is to bounce back from her troubles and come back to the law firm as soon as possible.
Opposite "Happiness" actor Lee Kyu Hyung who portrays the role of the cold and ruthless Jwa Shi Baek. Despite his rigid demeanor, he has a heart for the weak and powerless.
Lee Kyu Hyung is known for his evil roles that widens his acting spectrum by portraying a lawyer.
After he graduated from law school, he was offered a position to become a judge, prosecutor and a lawyer at the top three law firms. However, he rejected all of them to become a public defense lawyer instead.

The legal mystery drama "Let's Begin the Defense" is curated by the award-winning "Itaewon Class" producing director (PD) Kang Min Gu and penned by rookie scriptwriter Kim Dan.
It will be produced by Arc Media, the production company behind the brilliant historical romance drama "The King's Affection" starring Park Eun Bin and SF9 Rowoon.
