Netflix Drops ‘The Silent Sea’ Main Poster + Bae Doona, Gong Yoo, Lee Joon and More are All Set for a Top-Secret Mission
Netflix released "The Silent Sea,' main poster featuring the elite space crew led by Bae Doona and Gong Yoo.
Based on the short film "Sea of Tranquility," the upcoming mystery sci-fi thriller follows the story of a group of astronauts who are set to undergo a secret mission.
Their task is to retrieve samples from the abandoned lunar base known as the "silent sea" and return to the earth safely.

The streaming giant continues to entice fans with captivating and intriguing teasers, giving the viewers a glimpse of what to expect in the forthcoming series.
The latest poster features Bae Doona, Gong Yoo, Lee Joon, Lee Moo Saeng and Kim Sun Young, sporting the iconic white suit inside a space shuttle.
On the main poster, the group all dons fearful expressions signaling that something is up at the lunar base.
Interestingly, the fans could not wait for "The Silent Sea" release date as they expressed their excitement towards the upcoming Netflix series.
Moreover, the viewers are also thrilled to see Bae Doona and Gong Yoo in one drama.
Helmed by "The Sea of Tranquility" director Choi Hang Yong and penned by "Mother" screenwriter Park Eun Kyo, the eight-part episode series is slated to hit Netflix on December 24.

Meet 'The Silent Sea' Characters
The characters of the upcoming mystery thriller series are headed by the "Kingdom" star who took the role of astrobiologist Song Ji An.
She was instructed by the Korea Space Aviation Administration's resource team leader Kim Jae Sun, played by the "Squid Game" actor Heo Sung Tae, to head to the abandoned lunar base for a top-secret mission.
She is joined by a group of skilled astronauts led by Gong Yoo's character Han Yoon Jae, the spacecraft's team leader, with senior engineer Ryu Tae Seok, played by Lee Joon.
Capping off the elite space team is the head of security Gong Soo Hyuk (Lee Moo Saeng,) team doctor Hong Ga Young (Kim Sun Young,) and spaceship pilot Kim Sun (Lee Sung Wook.)
Based on the trailer, the team faced challenges as the spacecraft landed on the moon.
The goal is to shed light on the government's report by retrieving artifacts on the "silent sea" located at the Balhae Station.
"What if the government report wasn't true?" Song Ji An mentioned in the trailer adding, "There are too many things we don't know."
In the next scene, Han Yoon Jae suggests evacuating the base before things worsen.
'The Silent Sea' Cast and Producer Jung Woo Sung Details their Experience Filming the Netflix Series
After the upcoming Netflix series was confirmed, the Kdrama's executive producer and award-winning actor Jung Woo Sung told the media why he wanted to work with "The Silent Sea."
In a press conference, he revealed that he was captivated by "The Sea of Tranquility" and decided to turn it into a series.
Lead star Bae Doona also shared the same stance and expressed her excitement to work on the mystery-thriller series.
"Like Jung Woo Sung, I also saw the short film first and thought it was such a great subject. I was captivated by the story with its expandability, so I joined the cast," the actress said in a media conference.
