'The Red Sleeve Cuff' Episode 16: Lee Se Young Struggles to Live as Lee Junho's Concubine
In "The Red Sleeve Cuff" episode 16, Princess Hwabin (Yi Seo) tries to get rid of Sung Deok Im (Lee Se Young) in the palace and ruin her reputation in front of Yi San (Lee Junho).
'The Red Sleeve Cuff' Episode 16: Sung Deok Im Declines Queen Dowager Jungsoon's Offer to be Her Friend
Princess Hwabin asked Queen Jungsoon (Jang Hee Jin) to help her out with the worries that she might get abandoned if she cannot bear a child for Yi San.
Meanwhile, Deok Im went out of the palace to see her brother Sung Sik (Yang Byeong Yeol) and was glad to hear that her brother became a military officer just like their late father.
Back in the palace, Queen Jungsoon asked Yi San to forgive her brother after knowing he is ready to be punished, but the king was firm about his decision. Since what had happened to Deok Ro, he learned the lesson to not hire relatives anymore.
Yi San tried to negotiate with the queen but she refused. Instead, she told him to go to Princess Hwabin for Deok Im.
Queen Jungsoon wanted the court lady to take her side, but she rejected her once again, making the queen a little disappointed.
Royal Noble Consort Hwabin Tries to Get Rid of Deok Im
Meanwhile, Sung Deok Im got interrogated by Hwabin's maids after the royal consort found out that the court lady went out of the palace to meet a man. Yi San remembered what the queen said and went to Hwabin's place, and he saw Queen Dowager Jungsoon interrogating Deok Im.
The royal consort handed over the evidence to the queen dowager and Deok Im was surprised to see the red sleeve that Sung Sik gave her. However, she did not say a word because she didn't want her brother's identity to be revealed for his safety.
After learning the tension, Court Lady Seo (Jang Hye Jin) rushed to Hyebin Hong (Kang Mal Geum) to save Deok Im from receiving the punishment. She then headed to the palace and told Queen Dowager Jungsoon that Sung Deok Im and Sung Sik are siblings and their father was the royal guard who served late Crown Prince Sado.
However, Royal Noble Consort Hwabin wanted Deok Im and Sung Sik to be killed and stated the late Crown Prince Sado was a traitor.
King Yi San was infuriated and scolded the royal consort. She realized her mistake and begged for his mercy.
Yi San and Sung Deok Im Start to Build a Family
Sung Deok Im finally agreed to be Yi San's concubine, and they started to spend more time together. Deok Im waits for her husband at her chamber all day and takes good care of him.
The king was very happy to finally have the woman he loves by his side.

Three months after she became a concubine, Deok Im found out she was pregnant, which made Yi San blissful.
Knowing she misses her life as a court lady, Yi San permitted Sung Deok Im to do what she wanted and spend time with her friends.
But when her friends planned to take a day off outside the palace, Deok Im realized the things she had lost after becoming Yi San's concubine.
