Let's admit it. Some are looking forward to ending the night or the week with a good K-drama that would satisfy our brain for a bit of entertainment.

From rom-com to horror to thriller or even to a tear-jerker series, it's fun to binge on K-dramas, especially with long format and those that have 12 episodes or more. But what if you are on a busy weekend, or in the middle of a holiday rush, and yet you itch to have a little entertainment while preparing the New Year's Eve food?

If you want to take a break from long-term shows, here's a rundown of short K-dramas that you can surely finish in just one sitting.

'Hellbound'

The Netflix series, released in November 2021, has a total of 6 episodes with a duration of 50 minutes each.

Based on the webtoon of the same name, the mystery-horror K-drama follows the story of a religious group, known as The New Truth, and their goal to deliver the message of God by showing how the mysterious monsters brutally condemn the sinners.

Amid their growing members, some, particularly the former prosecutor Min Hye Jin, are suspicious about the activities of The New Truth.

"Hellbound," which stars Yoo Ah In, Kim Hyun Joo, Yang Ik Jun, Park Jung Min and Won Jin Ah, gained massive popularity worldwide due to its unique and visually stunning cinematography.

'D.P'

Another Netflix series with few episodes in one season is none other than "D.P." The action crime movie, starring Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan, has 6 episodes with a duration of 50 minutes each.

It depicts the journey of private soldier Ahn Jun Ho, played by the "Snowdrop" actor, and how he witnessed the corrupt practice in the military.

Following the first season's success, "D.P" is set to return with a brand new season in 2023.

'The Silent Sea'

From supernatural to action crime, we know move to short sci-fi Kdrama courtesy of "The Silent Sea."

Released during Christmas Eve of 2021, a group of elite soldiers featuring Gong Yoo, Bae Doona, MBLAQ's Lee Joon and more was sent to an abandoned lunar base to retrieve a sample that could save the Earth from massive drought.

Each episode of "The Silent Sea" runs 50 minutes, with a total of six episodes for season 1.

'Squid Game'

Lastly, capping off the list of short Kdramas that you can surely finish over the weekend is "Squid Game."

The nine-part episode series has a running time of 63 minutes which means you can watch the entire K-drama in less than a day.

Directed and written by the genius Hwang Dong Hyuk, "Squid Game" follows the story of 456 participants who are all debt-ridden but aims to take home the grand prize of 45.6 billion KRW or 38,000,000 USD
