Kim Da Mi on Reuniting With Choi Woo Sik in 'Our Beloved Summer'
"Our Beloved Summer" follows the enigmatic love story of ex-couples Woong (Choi Woo Sik) and Yeon Soo (Kim Da Mi), who meet again years later to film a sequel to the documentary they filmed in high school.
Throughout the drama, Kim Da Mi's character distanced herself from all kinds of relationships in order to protect herself. However, she shows various sides of her in front of the ones she dearly loves.
In the drama, Kim Da Mi joined hands with Choi Woo Sik, who she previously worked with in the award-winning film "The Witch: Subversion." Because of the film, the two amazing actors become close friends.
The actress said, "I'm very grateful for Choi Woo Sik. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't be able to act comfortably."
"It's because we know each other so well that we always do great in each scene," Kim Da Mi reasons.

Kim Da Mi also revealed that she didn't expect the show to be such a hit, saying, "Reading the script was fun, especially because I was acting along Choi Woo Sik."
"The director, writer and everyone in the production team seem to be younger than I thought, so we chatted like friends," she added, "I think it's a success because we were having fun when we were preparing for it."

Because the drama revolves around the romantic theme, Kim Da Mi also shared what she's like when she's dating.
The actress stated that she's an expressive type as she's not afraid to show diverse sides of herself that people don't know about: a complete opposite of her character, Kook Yeon Soo.

When asked about her ideal type among the male characters in the show, Choi Woong (Choi Woo Sik) or Kim Ji Woong (Kim Sung Cheol), Kim Da Mi picked the former as the closest to her ideal type.
"Woong just looks at one person, and suddenly, he's determined to do his best. There's a part of him that can't express himself well, but when he looks at Yeon Soo, he feels so much better," the actress explains.

Kim Da Mi also looked back at her high school days and said, "I was always tired and sleepy. I studied normally, though."
"I knew I wanted to act even as a child, so I had my mind set to be an actress someday," she added.
Kim Da Mi also shared how she longed to go to the year-end awards shows when she was younger. "When I achieved that through "The Witch: Subversion," I couldn't even believe it! It doesn't feel real," she continued.
In particular, the actress bagged the Director's Award at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards for "Our Beloved Summer."
