Kang Ha Neul To Appear in New Drama 'Trees Die on Their Feet' With Son Ye Jin
"Trees Die on Their Feet" (literal title) centers around the story of an elderly woman from North Korea who doesn't have much time to live and a theater actor who pretends to be her grandson to fulfill her final wish.
On February 17, Kang Ha Neul confirmed his participation in the newest KBS drama, where he stars as Yoo Jae Heon, a theater actor with a highly optimistic personality. He believes he can do anything as long as he sets his mind to it.
Yoo Jae Heon works as a theater actor in a local theater company. One day, he receives a surreal request from an elderly man to act as someone's grandson to fulfill her wish before she passes away.

Meanwhile, Youn Yuh Jung and Son Ye Jin were also offered roles in the drama. Once they confirm their appearance, they will play the roles of Ja Geum Soon and Se Yeon, respectively.
Ja Geum Soon is a North Korean born in 1930 who doesn't have much time to live. Her granddaughter, Se Yeon, works as an officer-in-charge of Hotel Nakwon.
Kang Ha Neul showed off his acting prowess in popular dramas like "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," "When the Camellia Blooms" and films "The Pirates: The Goblin Flag," "Midnight Runners" and more.
Through "Trees Die on Their Feet," Kang Ha Neul is expected to once again flaunt his talents and skills and deliver a remarkable, nostalgic and emotional role as a theater actor.
'Trees Die on Their Feet' K-Drama Details and What We Know for Now
The upcoming KBS drama "Trees Die on Their Feet" will be helmed by director Yoon Sang Ho, who created award-winning dramas "River Where the Moon Rises" and "Saimdang, Light's Diary."
Moreover, it will be helmed by Jo Sung Geol who also wrote "Hitman: Agent Jun" and "Midnight Runners," where Kang Ha Neul starred alongside Park Seo Joon.
Since he previously worked with both of the principal director and screenwriter before, Kang Ha Neul is expected to show great synergy with them in the new drama.
On the other hand, "Trees Die on Their Feet" will soon finish casting the lead stars and begin its production, filming and more.
