Jung Hae In to Play Chaebol in New Drama 'Trees Die on Their Feet'
In an exclusive report cited by Sports Chosun, the South Korean heartthrob is reportedly in talks to star in the upcoming K-drama "Trees Die on Their Feet."
The 33-year-old actor is courted to join the "Trees Die on Their Feet" cast, according to the report.
If Jung Hae In accepts the offer, he is set to portray Bae Dong Je, a grandson of a chaebol with head-turning looks.
He is the successor of the giant conglomerate, Samwoo, and his character is described as an aristocratic who is very logical and stays true to his words.
In the upcoming K-drama, the "D.P" star also stimulates the viewers' curiosity with his mysterious character.
'Trees Die on Their Feet' Cast, Release Date and What We Know So Far
Helmed by director Yoon Sang Ho, the person behind "River Where the Moon Rises" and the upcoming K-drama "The Jinx's Lover," "Trees Die on Their Feet" follows the story of an elderly North Korean woman who becomes a wealthy entrepreneur in South Korea.
She then meets a young theater actor who acts as her grandson. Without having much time left to live, the man is set to fulfill the old woman's final wish.

In "Trees Die on Their Feet," the Oscar winner Youn Yuh Jung will take on the role of Ja Geum Soon, the 92-year-old North Korean who got separated from her husband and child.
Upon transferring to South Korea, she established a hotel chain called Hotel Nakwon.
Meanwhile, Son Ye Jin will portray Youn Yuh Jung's granddaughter Se Yeon, and is also in charge of the hotel chain.
On the other hand, Kang Ha Neul will play the optimistic and full of love Yoo Jae Heon, a theater actor.
Despite growing up in a challenging environment, Yoo Jae Heon still sees the positive side of life and lives with a mantra, "Do what you want to do."

Interestingly, his life will change when he receives a surprising yet bizarre offer-to disguise as Moon Sung, Ja Geum Soon's grandson, which will be Yoo Jae Heon's most significant turning point in his life.
Apart from Son Ye Jin, Jung Hae In, Kang Ha Neul and Youn Yuh Jung, the "Trees Die on Their Feet" cast also includes veteran actor Sung Dong Il as Jung Sang Cheol.
According to Sports Chosun, the director Yoon Sang Ho shared that he and the team planned to start the production as soon as the cast lineup is completed and aims to release in the second half of 2022.
Interestingly, the upcoming KBS series is the reunion project of Jung Hae In and the "Thirty-Nine" star Son Ye Jin after headlining 2018 hit K-drama "Something in the Rain."
