Kim Go Eun, GOT7’s Jinyoung Share Expectations in ‘Yumi’s Cells’ Season 2
Kim Go Eun and GOT7's Jinyoung flaunted their unique charms and undeniable chemistry as they graced "Yumi's Cells" season 2 press conference. The lead stars, alongside director Lee Sang Yeob, answer questions from the media and share their thoughts about the upcoming sequel.
The webtoon-based K-drama follows the story of Kim Yumi, an ordinary girl whos lives an extraordinary life. She is joined by a group of cells at Sepho village, headed by Love cells. They are in charge of Yumi's emotions, actions, and even decisions, which is why they play a significant role in her life.
After wrapping up the first season in October 2021, Yumi is back with a new love journey and a new member at Sepho.
Director Talks About Kim Go Eun's Growth in 'Yumi's Cells' Season 2
During the "Yumi's Cells" press conference, director Lee Sang Yeob spoke about the growth of Kim Yumi in seasons 1 and 2.
As noted by a local outlet, the PD shared that the actress "has become more mature in season 2" versus the time she first saw Kim Go Eun.
"When I first saw Go-Eun Kim, she was honest and mischievous," director Lee Sang Yeob described the actress.
It seems like viewers will see how the actress progress as she plays the titular role since "Yumi's Cells" will be released in multiple seasons.
As for the much-awaited sequel, the director hints that season two will feature not just her new relationship but also the borderline between work and love, adding that he is excited for the Kdrama to premiere.
"Yumi's cells" season 2 release date is scheduled to hit the small screens on June 10, via tvN, airing every Friday and Saturday with 14 episodes in total.
GOT7's Jinyoung Discusses Role as Yoo Bobby
The singer-actor appeared in mid of "Yumi's Cells" season 1 as the protagonist's colleague. He was the one who noticed Kim Yumi's strength in writing and recommended her to their department.
Since then, the series has shown the duo's closeness.

Park Jinyoung revealed that viewers would witness the evolution of Yoo Bobby's character, which is "divided into the first half and the second half" of the series.
Moreover, he described his role as someone who "seems to be a person who thinks a lot and cares a lot about others."
In the press conference, the GOT7 member also hoped that viewers would see Bobby's warm character.
Kim Go Eun on Reprising Her Role as Kim Yumi
While the first season focuses on Yumi finding her true love, Kim Go Eun says the sequel will highlight the process of how Kim Yumi grew from her mistakes and the lessons she learned.
Moreover, she also added that the second season would welcome a new cell that would play an essential role in Yumi.
Lastly, the actress also shared that there are a lot of sad and happy memories on set that will be captured in the Kdrama.
