Days ahead of the premiere of "Money Heist Korea: Joint Economic Area," the cast and production team of the series meet the public through an online press conference.
The team dished out their filming experiences, preparations and unforgettable moments while curating the drama. In addition to that, the cast also hinted at what to expect from the series.
'Money Heist Korea' To Deliver Captivatingly Unique Tale
The much awaited South Korean remake of "Money Heist" is ready to infiltrate the Korean Peninsula this summer.
Prior to its premiere, cast members Yoo Ji Tae, Kim Yun Jin, Park Hae Soo, Jeon Jong Seo, Lee Won Jong, Kim Ji Hoon, Lee Joo Bin, Lee Hyun Woo, Park Myung Hoon and Kim Seong Oh attended the event.
Director Kim Hong Sun and screenwriter Ryu Yong Jae were also present in the press conference, which was held at the COEX GRAD Ballroom in Gangnam.
"Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area" will tell the adrenaline-infused story of a bunch of strategists, geniuses and robbers, led by the Professor, as they attempt to execute the biggest heist in history.
Because it is a remake of a very popular series, the production unit admitted that they felt immense pressure in creating the bold and ambitious project.
However, they are adamant to showcase a unique story through the lens of North and South Koreans who reunify to accomplish the biggest heist in history.

"The North and South Korean situation is something I really want to create," Kim Hong Sun, the drama director, said. "I thought a lot about how the two Koreas could be depicted in the show which will spark global curiosity."
Screenwriter Ryu Yong Jae stated that they incorporated the inter-Korean relationship to give the story layers.
This certainly amplifies the excitement, chemistry and dynamics within the story of the gang, task force and heist that transcend the long history of division.
'Money Heist Korea' To Surpass 'Squid Game' Success
Kim Hong Sun, who felt immense pressure in creating the ambitious remake, hopes viewers will find "Money Heist Korea: Joint Economic Area" worthwhile as much as they enjoyed "Squid Game."

"Squid Game" is a survival story between life and death which dominated the whole world in 2021 with its gripping storyline and outstanding performances.
In particular, Park Hae Soo, the actor who plays Berlin in the series, took part in the hit series "Squid Game" as one of the main characters.
"I hope the viewers find the series at par with "Squid Game, and achieve many great things globally," Kim Hong Sun said.
What To Expect From 'Money Heist Korea: Joint Economic Area'
Though it's a remake of a famous non-English series, the production unit of the drama made sure to include bits of South Korean history and culture to strengthen the work.

While the Spanish series boasted the widely known Salvador Dali mask, "Money Heist Korea" features the Korean Hahoe mask.

"The Dali mask was used as a symbol of resistance. In this series, we used the Hahoe mask to embody criticism of the powerful," Park Hae Soo shared.

In particular, the forthcoming heist series doesn't only offer entertainment and determination but also hope and friendship through the cusp of reunification of the two Koreas that has never been seen in any other works before.
