Men sympathize over the story and women find the story of army life interesting. "Blue Tower Zero" is making its return to the home theater this month.

With its first episode broadcasted on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, on the cable channel tvN, "Blue Tower Returns" stars the actors from "Blue Tower Zero," such as, Choi Jong Hoon with new actors such as Hwang Jae Sung. On the first episode of "Blue Tower Returns" Choi Jong Hoon who had been a trainee in "Blue Tower Zero" has returned as an officer, and met with the sergeant. On this day's episode, Hwang Jae Sung, who seems strong on the outside but is soft and fragile inside made his first debut, and the scenes of the cast members being trained in the outdoors were aired.

The previous, original "Blue Tower Zero" had its finale without much attention from the public. The drama had its original idea of camping, but also came with the time limitation of five weeks. In addition, the lives of trainees without the rankings were a little bit flat, because the depiction of a rankless army life did not maintain the fun and laughter of the military life.

"Blue Tower Returns," which made its premiere with the original members from "Blue Tower Zero," seems to ignite the series' fun again. "All time sergeant" Choi Jong Hoon, in addition to Kim Jae Woo, Kim Ho Chang, Jeong Jin Uk, and Lee Yong Joo showed off their strong relationships. They all played great roles that reflected each of their characters in the limited framework of the military life, with the exception of the new cast member Hwang Jae Sung, who plays a platoon leader.

A platoon leader who is full of elitism but no concept of empathy was a subject of strong interest of the male audiences. The platoon leader Hwang Jae Sung did not correctly understand the commands of his boss, the battalion commander, making his members suffer. During the trainings, he was busy chasing after his members instead of trying to understand how much hardship they are going through. These aspects of a platoon leader who has a higher rank than a soldier but less experience in the army remind the audiences of the past. However, these were the parts that female audiences and high school student audiences would not fully comprehend.

The looks of Choi Jong Hoon and the members being so tense and anxious in front of "Two Star" garnered the audiences' laughter. On this episode, Choi Jong Hoon and his members stopped by at the sauna during the training. While they are enjoying their baths, Choi Jong Hoon, Kim Jae Woo, and Kim Ho Chang is taken aback to see a man with two stars on his uniform, especially because they had been skipping the training without the consent of their boss. After all, the man with "Two Stars" turned out to be an actor stopping by at the sauna.

"Military Runway Korea," which parodied the "Project Runway Korea," also attracted attention of the audiences. The first "Military Runway Korea" dealt with the active wear of the military men. Lean and tall male models appeared wearing very normal looking active wear. For the judges, designer Ha Sang Baek, celebrity Hong Suk Chun, and Hwang Bok Soon, "Fashion Coordinator Grandma" of group UV appeared, adding to the fun of the drama.

All in all, the "Blue Tower Returns" set off its secure start with giving the audiences a good laughter. However, considering that "Blue Tower Zero" when first premiered gave the audiences the freshness of the military jokes, "Blue Tower Returns" needs to prepare better military and army jokes. The audiences are not amused by the military jokes anymore, since the entertainment TV program "Real Man" is already in its place.
