However, during that time, "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" was even speculated to be produced by the broadcasting company giant tvN before switching to SBS until the newly-established station company ENA confirmed that they would be the one to handle the drama's production.

In addition, the name Woo Young Woo written in Hangul has the same consonants as IU's name, speculating that the drama's writer might have thought of the "Hotel Del Luna's" star when penning the script.
Park Eun Bin Gets Cautious of Playing the Role of Woo Young Woo
Since the production had been passed through different companies before landing at ENA, the new company probably wasn't well-funded enough to have IU as the drama's lead. Therefore, actress Park Eun Bin was chosen to finally lead the series.

When Park Eun Bin finally confirmed her participation in the project. She shared in one of her interviews with Allure Korea that she was afraid to show her acting who plays the role with special needs. She was worried that if she didn't do it properly, she might hurt specific audiences.
