On July 24, the latest episode of the tvN drama was released and recorded its best score since its premiere. The new episode of the drama slowly revealed the true villains in the story as dark secrets unfold one by one.
In particular, the romantic elements between the main lead stars, Jung So Min, Lee Jae Wook, Hwang Minhyun, and Shin Seung Ho, also aroused the public's interest and support.

Because of this, the fantasy romance drama recovered from its all-time low streak and recorded an average rating of 7.1% nationwide, a 2.2% higher than its previous episode and the drama's lowest rating yet.
"Alchemy of Souls" is now in its seventh week, and it is expected to continue receiving positive feedback, and higher ratings as the drama reaches its climax.

In the latest episode of "Alchemy of Souls," Jang Uk (Lee Jae Wook) and Mu Deok (Jung So Min) witness how a soul shifter runs wild after shifting into a body not fit for its soul.

Jang Uk brings Mu Deok to Cheonbugwan, where the constellations and stars are read. Mu Deok used to visit the place as his late father was once a constellation reader mage.
Unfortunately, Mu Deok's father was killed after he ran wild and became a threat to the community.
While the two were checking out the place, a soul shifter who works under Jin Mu (Jo Jae Yoon) runs and hides in the same place.

Jin Mu then catches them, trapping Jang Uk in a barrier. To save his man, Jin Mu lets the soul shifter feed on Mu Deok to regain his energy.
Unfortunately, they weren't aware that she was a soul shifter herself. The tables turned as Mu Deok fed off the soul shifter's energy, signaling she was about to run wild.

She forbids Jang Uk to come closer to her, but instead, Jang Uk embraces her and promises that he'll stay by his side even if he dies.
