‘Today’s Webtoon’ Episode 1: Kim Sejeong Pursues New Dream With Immense Passion

'Today's Webtoon' Episode 1: On Ma Eum Pursues New Dream
After a traumatic incident that caused her severe injuries, On Ma Eum (Kim Sejeong) decides to take her mind off Judo for the time being.

Currently, she is trying out different things, like doing deliveries as a part-time job. Apart from these kinds of gigs, On Ma Eum finds comfort in reading her favorite webtoon stories online.
Luckily, she is given a part-time job as a security guard at the annual event of Neon Webtoon, the company that produces her all-time favorite works.
At the ceremony, she meets the famous people who created masterpieces that deliver great comfort to avid readers. On Ma Eum also meets Seok Ji Hyung (Choi Daniel), a webtoon producer.

Because of the enticing world of webtoons, she becomes determined to pursue her dreams of being in the world of webtoon.
Even though she begins to lose the spark of Judo, the thing she loved for 15 years, she redirects her passion to something else she deems worthwhile.
On Ma Eum Officially Becomes A Neon Webtoon Employee
With her charms and passion for entering the world of webtoon, she applies for a position at Neon Webtoon.

However, she's at a disadvantage because she only focused on Judo all her life. On Ma Eum couldn't boast anything related to webtoons, as she doesn't have prior experience in the field.
She then meets the elite, knowledgeable and perfect rookie employee Goo Joon Young. The two are exact opposites of each other.

Three months later, the two were hired at the Webtoon Service Team of Neon Webtoon in hopes of saving the team from being taken down.

It turns out that the webtoon team was once called Gingertoons, but because of the declining appeal to the public, they couldn't stir enough buzz and traffic.

The company then hires new faces to gather manpower and maintain harmony in the place. On Ma Eum feels elated as she lands a new job, even if it means disappointing her father, who's also her Judo coach.

On Ma Eum is tasked to shadow Seok Ji Hyung as he mentors her on how to get comfortable with her new job as soon as possible.

The two visit the webtoon artists and ensure everyone meets their deadlines to avoid lapses and further damages.
One of On Ma Eum's important tasks is ensuring that the webtoon artists don't miss an episode. Otherwise, the whole team would be shut down.

Little does she know, they are forbidden to read comments as negative feedback can affect the temperament and feelings of the artists.
Later that night, the webtoon team is startled as Baek Eo Jin asks to pull out every submitted episode from publication.
