Candidates for Seoul International Drama Awards 2022
The committee in charge of Seoul International Drama Awards 2022 headed by director Kim Eui Chul announced on August 2 that a total of 24 works from 11 countries and 30 personalities were selected as candidates. This comes as a result of the preliminary examination of 225 works from 39 regions that were submitted to the international competition sector.

The Competition section comprises three categories: short films, mini-series, and feature films. Under each category's Best Picture and nominees for individual awards such as director, writer, actress, and actor, eight candidates will advance to the main awards.
Director Choi Sang Yeol of KBS' "Hee Soo" was nominated for the Best Director Award. He will compete with international directors Hiro Murai, Jeremy Podeswa, Akim Isker, and more.

Park Eun Bin and Rowoon's "The King's Affection" was a candidate for the Best Writer Category.
Jeon Seo Min and Kim Nam Gil Earn Nominations for Best Actress and Actor Awards
Thanks to her diverse performance and improved acting, "Running Man" cast member and actress Jeon So Min successfully made it to the list in the Best Actress Category. She will compete with Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, and Turkish top model-actress Ebru Sahin.

Meanwhile, A-list actor Kim Nam Gil was also named as one of the nominees for the Best Actor Award for his performance in the drama "Through the Darkness." Stephen Graham and Sebastian Koch are other prominent actors joining him on the list.

The organization has yet to release the complete list of nominees for each category. Meanwhile, the winners of this prestigious event will be declared at the award ceremony at the KBS Hall, Yeouido, Seoul, on September 22.
Furthermore, apart from the main categories, winners for the additional categories, particularly OST Award, Asian Star Award, and Hallyu Drama Award, will also be announced during the event.
Seoul International Drama Awards is said to be the world's first global drama award ceremony for the unity of talented individuals around the world and the development of the drama industry. It started in 2006 and is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul, MBC, SBS, KBS, and CBS.
