Viewers were saddened when "Alchemy of Souls" announced it was to have a one-week hiatus to give the production team ample time to ensure the drama's quality.
However, even though the drama had a week break, "Alchemy of Souls" proved its popularity as after its new episode on August 20 once again reached high ratings.

In the updated report released by Nielsen Korea, the Saturday-Sunday K-drama recorded an average score of 7.6 percent with its newly-released Episode 17. Jung So Min's drama took first place in its time slot across all channels, which also includes public broadcast networks.
For nine-consecutive weeks, "Alchemy of Souls" is said to have taken first place in its time slot among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49.

'Big Mouth' Marks New Achievement as Drama Beats Previous Double-Digit Rating Record
Meanwhile, another trending K-drama "Big Mouth" that airs every Friday and Saturday, is stealing the viewers' attention for its spell-binding storyline. The MBC series is receiving enthusiastic responses from viewers.
Lee Jong Suk and Yoona's drama comeback "Big Mouth" beat its previous rating records. Episode 7, which aired on August 19, impressively recorded an average score of 11.2 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.
The following day, the MBC series maintained its double-digit rating for collecting 10.3 percent nationwide during Episode 8.

Now, that the drama is about to enter its second half, and viewers are glued to the screen as they get more curious about what would happen next in Park Chang Ho's (Lee Jong Suk) journey of finding the real Big Mouse.

Meanwhile, JTBC's crime-action drama "The Good Detective 2" began to dominate primetime nationwide as it recorded an average score of 5.0 percent with its latest episode.

Yoon Si Yoon's "It's Beautiful Now" is also consistent with double-digit ratings, with its latest being 26.5%.
